Brooklyn Acupuncture Project is amazing. It’s on 7th Street. Amazing mission, so much more affordable than any other options and fantastic acupuncturists. I’ve been going to them for years ; they saw me through two high - risk pregnancies. I second brooklyn acupuncture project. My insurance doesn’t cover acupuncture, but their sliding scale makes it very doable since you really need to go once a week or so at the beginning. I’ve had acupuncture over the years for handful of different ailments and it makes such a difference if you actually go regularly! Its community acupuncture, but they do a good job of keeping a quiet environment with lots of white noise and soothing music.Acupuncture

The therapists at Brooklyn Acupuncture Project are great, and the treatments were very relaxing and helped with my intense swelling. I had five treatments over a two week period, but they ultimately didn't work for induction. My son had the cord wrapped around him and wasn't going to drop no matter what we tried!Acupuncturist for labor induction
I whole heartedly second Brooklyn Acupuncture Project- in particular Alexandra Garcia. While very good with all issues, she specializes in pre-natal to post pardum issues, and among many things I saw her while I was pregnant and trying to avoid induction. Brooklyn Acupuncture Project in Gowanus is wonderful. Had two treatments in a row and went into labor 6 hours after the second one, the day before my due date. I had a really long induction with my first and really just wanted to go into labor on my own with my second. I was already dilated 3cm and 70% effaced. It only works if you are already primed to go, if you will...worth it just for the relaxation and feeling like you are doing something to pass the interminable time until your baby gets here though.Acupuncture Recs

I saw two acupuncturists pre pregnancy throughout pregnancy and they worked together sharing notes as they know each other. I would definitely recommend the Brooklyn Acupuncture Project. They are in Gowanus around 3rd Ave and 12th St. There are many talented practitioners there, and it is "pay as much as you are able" clinic. I worked with Kerry and she was terrific.Acupuncturist

The Brooklyn Acupuncture Project! they're at 12th st and 3rd ave. They're sliding scale and have a number of great practitioners. You can DEF go there for induction. And if this Po-Hong mentioned in Fiona's email is the same one as at BAP (I'm guessing so - or else there are coincidentally a few acupuncturists named Po-Hong around here) - she's fantastic! I saw her numerous times during pregnancy (along with other practitioners at BAP, but I mostly saw Po and Sarah Chase). In fact I saw her a few days before I was due to give birth, and she asked if I was there for induction (which I wasn't). :)(no subject)
I third this! They're fantastic, and the sliding scale is from $25-50, honor system ($10 more for the first visit). I've worked with almost everyone there and haven't been disappointed yet, but in particular I find Sarah Chase to be incredibly intuitive and amazing. Can't go wrong, though!(no subject)

I can't remember is I already responded to this (pregnancy brain) but if I didn't I'm pretty sure that Rachel Esquilin at Brooklyn Acupuncture Project http://www.brooklynacupunctureproject.com/index.html is the reason I got pregnant after trying for over a year, one month of working with her and now I'm going to give birth in December. I'm still seeing her to deal with the routine aches and pains of pregnancy, she's awesome.(no subject)
I second Susan! She is wonderful. I loved her willingness to work with -- rather than compete with or try to talk me out of -- the "western" medicine side of fertility treatments. She is just the greatest.(no subject)
Susan Wallmeyer works out of the Brooklyn Acupuncture Project community clinic on Wednesdays, brooklynacupunctureproject.com - 3rd ave and 12th st. She deals with women's health/fertility issues (you can look up her website) and she's lovely! It's a different vibe than going to a private office, though, obviously - it's a community clinic so you're being treated in a large space with a couple of other people. On the plus side, it's sliding scale honor system $25-50.
