Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey
Midwife: Midwives at Boropark obgyn What month and year was your child born? 11/2022 Review: Some were great, and some were very inexperienced. I was left alone with my husband, a doula and a nurse, where the nurse was screaming at me not to push, and had no guidance at all. It was incredibly traumatizing.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I was thrilled to find a local practice that had both midwives and doctors on staff. I saw the midwives throughout my pregnancy and they were terrific. I ultimately had a c-section and Dr. Zafra was also great. However, wait times at the office are long and my experience with the different technicians was mixed. A sonogram tech mistakenly revealed our baby’s sex, for example.Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I was not impressed with Boro Park Midwives— felt a bit faceless there and, as a first-time mother, I felt that the midwives were not very forthcoming with information about the birthing process. (Terse answers to my questions, for example, and not much anticipation of basic questions.) They also let some things slip through the cracks— like when I was supposed to get a genetic test, they forgot to draw blood for it (they drew blood for another test), and I only found out weeks later when I wondered what was taking so long and called to ask for the test results...Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey
I loved my midwives. I felt very taken care of, felt like I was given options when my pregnancy became high risk, there was a lot of communication.Delivery location?
I can't say enough good things about Boro Park OBGYN/Midwives Pavilion. They are a mixed midwives/OB practice. I see the midwives exclusively at their own office, but have seen the docs when necessary. They deliver at Maimonides which is known for their well-run labor and delivery unit with a NICU. There is never a wait to be seen and the midwives are all wonderful, non-alarmist and caring. They take most forms of insurance but I am not sure about their policy on taking someone at 20 weeks. I really liked delivering with this practice. They have a strong midwifery practice within the OB/GYN . I can’t vouch for the rest of the practice but the midwives were great. They are a very busy practice but knowledgeable, kind and down to business. They have both a midwife and Dr. on call 24 hours a day at Maimonides. As a vbac patient I had a hard time finding a practice that took my insurance and delivered in Brooklyn but they had no problem with my situation. The office is clean, has a lab and all the ultra sound equipment so no need to make additional appointments at outside the office which was important for me since I didn’t have a lot of time for appointments since I work full time and have a toddler... I had a success Vbac so especially happy with the practice. Based on a October 2017 birthing experience.
