I am using Bonnie Silva (www.BonnieSilva.com) who came the first 3 nights we were home from the hospital. We have used her an additional 6 nights since (3 of which were to help us with my husbands transition back to work). Like you, while I was pregnant I had reservations about someone I don’t know being a part of this intimate and landmark occasion. However, being in the care of the labor and delivery nurses of the hospital - also complete strangers - made me realize that how necessary their expertise and care are where I and my husband were lacking as first time parents…and we benefited from all the help and trust we could get. A night nurse was a consistent thing I heard friends suggest (with the qualifier if you can afford it). Bonnie has been a great person to bounce questions off of and get bespoke expertise I would not have gotten just from the virtual newborn care classes I have taken pre-birth. You always hope for things to be the best and easy…and she was able to provide instant advice when they were not so we didn’t feel alone in working things out.
