  • Pilates zoom classes?

I highly recommend BodyTonic in Park Slope, they are doing online classes. They have been operating for 20+ years and the teachers are phenomenal. I've been doing zoom classes and they provide excellent corrections.
  • Favorite Postpartum Workout?

Loved Merav’s postpartum Pilates at Bodytonic. You can bring baby (or not).
  • SUMMARY Re: ISO early AM pilates class

BodyTonic is running a semi-private Pilates class on Mondays at 7am, geared to new moms. They have room for up to three in the class, and I would guess there'd be room for you since my slot just opened up :( Long story short, I have a scheduling conflict with my little one, who has now decided to refuse the breast at all times except for early AM, so I choose to stay and feed her while I still can. I used to take prenatal Pilates with Merav, who also teaches this class. It's wonderful and supportive, and the other moms are so nice. You can reach out to her directly to book. Try it one week and see how you like it!
  • Review submitted via the PSP Birth Survey

Merav's group and (semi-)private prenatal Pilates classes at BodyTonic. These were my favorite prenatal workouts, especially as my pregnancy advanced and I was losing some of my agility. I always found prenatal yoga to be a bit too snoozy, but prenatal Pilates was the perfect workout, being gentle on the body while not compromising on actually getting some work in! These classes helped me maintain core strength (without harming my stretching abs), work on breathing techniques and pelvic floor awareness, and improve my flexibility and mobility. Based on a August 2017 experience
  • Review for Body Tonic Pilates

I cannot say enough great things about Body Tonic Pilates Gymnasium. I have been a devout pilates person for over a decade, and when my husband and I moved to park slope (just this past March) finding a new studio to train at was at the top of my list - especially as I was 5 months pregnant. I am so lucky to have found Body Tonic. Not only are the facilities wonderful (they just revamped all of their equipment) but the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I took advantage of their introductory 3 session package to meet a variety of trainers, and each one was incredibly well taught and had a wealth of exercises for me (especially in my limited condition) to receive a full body workout. Every week, my sessions have been completely different from the last, giving me a great variety of ways to train. The owner, Jennifer, is incredibly friendly and you can tell she takes immense pride in the studio and in her trainers being well prepared. She is also hosting community friendly events and even creating a pilates for men class. Please note - none of this information was thrust upon me in any forced marketing, but all through me having a genuine interest in a studio that in such a short time I feel truly supported by. Just the other day my trainer said, I can't wait until you have this baby so we can train you even harder as we don't know what your non pregnant body is capable of. What a dream of a studio. I am so happy to have found my workout home.
  • Re: Pilates classes

I love Bodytonic on Fifth Avenue and St John's. It's a Pilates gym so they have both mat and reformer classes. Jen, the owner is great as are all the other instructors and you really feel like you're getting personal treatment, whatever you want to focus on, in the class. Good luck!

ISO Pilates instructor with experience in diastasis Jennifer at body tonic is the owner and an instructor at body tonic. She is a mon who herself had diastasis. They run these small (4 students) postpartum workshops on the equipment too.

There are these really great and Small group classes on the equipment at Body Tonic. I think it came out to something like 20 dollars a class and it was limited to 4 students Its an amazing deal if you want to train on the reformer.

Body Tonic is great. I have been going there for a few years. The instructors are very good and they have private and semi-private lessons and group classes and workshops at all different levels. Their website is body-tonic.com. (September 2010).
