I took an interesting online class on the postpartum period (aka 4th trimester) which was offered by Birdsong (https://www.birdsongbrooklyn.com/classesandevents). I highly recommend the class if it's on your mind also (looks like it's being offered again 5/15). There were a lot of useful tips for planning ahead.Postpartum Doula Recommendations
Erica Livingston at Birdsong Brooklyn is AHHHHHMAZING www.birdsongbrooklyn.com Giving birth with no local family support, Erica was a crucial part of our recent postpartum experience, providing nurturing and healing for me, sage advice and whole family support for my husband, baby and I. I'm sure they're really wonderful, but we didn't get to work together. I hired them for postpartum care. They canceled on me twice after I got home from the hospital and although I understand the reasons, I was made to feel like our inability to connect was my fault. It was really stressful and I felt like I failed at finding help. Luckily, I was able to get through the hardest parts of being home with a new baby without them. I requested to part ways after not being able to schedule any time together for a week and was able to get half of my deposit reimbursed.
