For those not wanting to wait in line, you might try Bicycle Roots in Crown Heights. They take appointments. I bought a cargo bike there last week and took it there this morning for a free gear adjustment. Small repairs like that are free if you buy a bike from the store, and they do have some hybrid bikes available now (told me they were the last new bikes they'd be getting for months).
