Review: This was the most wonderful program I could have imagined for my kids. Both my children attended it through end of April when we moved out of state. They both now attend a more traditional preschool where classes are split more closely in age and I have to say we enjoyed the more relaxed structure of Bambi more. The teachers at Bambi were second to none. Incredibly caring, thoughtful and nurturing. Oksana (director) is hands on and always stepping in to help out with kids who need a little extra. They truly try to bend their methods to fit all children instead of applying the "one fits all" approach. I was gutted when we had to move on. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? We didn't need this but it would be great if they offered earlier drop than 8am for those parents who truly need it.

Review: My 2 year old attended Bambi for one year- she started in the little kids (1-2) room and then moved to the older kid room after she turned two in October. Bambi provides breakfast, lunch, and snack everyday. They’re open year round, 8-6, and only close for major holidays. The kids are able to use a small outdoor space and have music class 1x week. Each week has an assigned letter & the kids talk about items with that letter before a letter themed show & tell every Friday. Bambi hosts a Thanksgiving pot luck & end of year picnic for families to gather together. As a young 2 year old in a class that went up to 5, Bambi wasn’t the best fit for my motion seeking daughter. Art projects and activities were often aimed at older, more advanced kids. The teachers shared that my daughter didn’t participate, preferring to just run around the room. They acknowledged that they did not engage her or adapt projects to her level. I think there can be a lot of benefits to mixed age classes, the Bambi teachers started when the classroom was primarily older kids and it felt that was where a lot of the curriculum was still aimed. Amenities: Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Communication- updates on the day were only provided orally during pickup and were inconsistent. The assessment of the day (and overall information on my child) changed depending on which teacher was reporting out.

We absolutely adore Bambi and both my kids go there now, though we are moving at the end of April and I am already tearing up thinking about the fact that we will no longer send them there...it legitimately feels like I am leaving my children with a trusted family member, when I drop them off. I will note though they don't take kids under 1y so that might not work out timing wise.

I currently have two kids at Bambi and we love it. It's a warm and inviting space staffed with teachers who love kids and truly enjoy being around them. My older kiddo was speech delayed and they did such wonderful job communicating with him on his level whilst encouraging speech. The director has a special ed degree and she's super in tune with how to approach behavior shifts as well as how to adjust their curriculum to fit the needs of children who might have some trouble adjusting. My older son also has some attention deficits and they worked hard to find a way for him to participate in all activities with modifications. Lots of fun activities and projects, older kids learn the typical things like alphabet, numbers etc. They do lots of events around holidays and there is daily movement and once a week music class. Backyard is small but cozy. Kids under 2y are in the baby room with less educational curriculum but they still do a reading circle and lots of developmental play. As a completely unexpected bonus they basically potty trained my older son. I trust them completely and feel super safe leaving my kids in their care.

Type of facility: Daycare Review: Bambi Childcare is so fantastic we really feel so lucky we landed here. Oksana (director) is warm, accommodating and very involved in caring for the kids. The teachers are attentive and kind, you can really tell they love kids and are happy to spend time with them...it's not just a job for the people who work here. What I loved so much about this daycare is the structure and age appropriate curriculum they introduce the kids to. Children in the big kid room learn alphabet, numbers, days of the week, months of the year etc. The daily circle time introduces participation and play based learning. There are music classes weekly and show and tell. The daycare organizes many lovely celebrations throughout the school year as well as activities such as growing their own plants, watching the cycle of a butterfly, ant farms etc. There are also many crafts activities stand alone and connected to holiday celebrations. Each month has a theme. This was really a lovely intro to structured learning and a great preparation for my child before he's off to 3K. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Has after-school options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, The indoor space is really large and well laid out with space for the kids to learn, play and craft What would you change about the program, if anything? I would love for them to participate in 3K. We were so on the fence moving our kid to a formal 3K program but in the end can't afford to pay for two kids in daycare. Our younger kid is joining Bambi next month but our older is off to k280. If they had the full day 3K program we'd keep our kid at Bambi without a second thought. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? Bambi staff is diligent about safety protocols, vaccination schedules and sanitation. They inform parents immediately when there are cases. We've had some quarantines after positive cases but that's to be expected. My child never got sick and I felt like the situation was handled really well.
  • [CHILDCARE] Availability at Bambi Child Care for 2+ year olds

We just moved to PA in June and vacated a spot at Bambi and honestly miss it so much. It's a very special place and the caregivers are so loving. Our 3-year-old loved it and so did we!

I also highly recommend Bambi! My daughter has attended for two years, starting in the baby room and then “graduating” to the “big” kids room. The staff is both very caring and professional. The facility is well maintained and has a classroom feel in the big kids room (2yr-4yr) with age appropriate activities and curriculum.

Third! Our daughter is at Bambi and we love it. One thing the others didn’t mention is that Bambi provides food in the older classroom, which is so helpful! The staff is warm, loving, and caring. They also have a wonderful music class/teacher!

I second this! Our kiddo is leaving Bambi for 3k in September but our younger child will be joining them next month. We absolutely adore them. Oksana is so caring and loving. My kid was out sick for almost a week recently and when I asked him who he missed the most from daycare he said Miss Oksana ?. She really took fantastic care of him when he had a tough transition from nanny share to daycare last year and when he transitioned to the big kid room. The other teachers are also so wonderful. The daycare is safe and it's a really big and beautiful space with lots of age appropriate structure. My kid is on the younger side of 3 (turning in December) and he came home one day counting and singing his ABCs which was incredible especially given that he's massively speech delayed.
  • [CHILDCARE] Availability at Bambi Child Care for 2+ year olds

I just wanted to share that Bambi Child Care on Prospect Avenue has availability for 2+ year olds in their "big kids room." We have a 3 year old at Bambi currently who will be departing at the end of the summer for 3K. Bambi generally has a wait list for entry but are adjusting because the introduction of 3K means many kids leave a year earlier than previously. We highly recommend Bambi and many other parents there have enjoyed the school, as well. We've written reviews for Bambi on their Google page. Ms. Oksana the owner indicated that they have a few spots available for 2+ year olds and I wanted to share in case anyone is looking for a great daycare provider.

Location: 1220 Prospect Ave Type of facility: Daycare, Preschool Review: Our family had a wonderful experience at Bambi. Caring and loving teachers and staff, Oksana is flexible with scheduling and easy to coordinate/communicate with, they have two music classes for the 2& 3 year old kids a week and a preschool curriculum. Show and tell on Fridays with the letter of the week as a theme. Will be hard to say good bye now that my youngest daughter is moving on to DOE 3K. What amenities does the facility have? Has outdoor space, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything? More time outdoors. Is there anything you would like to add about how the school is handling the pandemic? They've been communicative and responsible with regard to safety protocols.
  • Kensington daycare

LOVE Bambi and can 100% vouch for it.
  • Daycare Windsor Terrace/Kensington

Wanted to chime in and say Bambi is wonderful. We’ve had our older daughter there for 2 years. The caretakers are sweet and attentive. My daughter loves going to bambi and will sometimes ask to go early! After a 1.5 year long waiting period, our second is starting there this summer, in the big kids room. So it is true that the wait is long.
  • Daycare Windsor Terrace/Kensington

Bambi is known for being the most popular spot in the neighborhood, and the last I heard, they had a 13 month waiting list. (I know one family who sends their kid there, and they got on the waiting list when they were 2 months pregnant!) I don't know if it's any different for older kids (not newborns), so it might be worth inquiring about that. They're well known and well respected, but like so many places, hard to reach. So keep trying if you can't get anyone on the phone, and stop by if you need to!
  • Review from the 2017/2018 PSP Daycare, Preschool, PreK, Kindergarten Survey

There are 8 infant spots, my daughter started at 8 months and when she turned 2, moved into the big kids room. The teachers are loving, the space is clean and they provide all meals (2+). They have high ceilings and lots of light. Very loving environment. We’ve been so happy there. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals. What would you change? Wish they took them to prospect park.

  • 2014 Daycare/Preschool PSP review

Program: Length of Time: 5 days a week Child's Age: 1-2 years Review: This location of Bambi is a small (10-12 mixed age kids and three caregivers) home-care style daycare run out of the ground level of a brownstone. We switched here from a large, multi-classroom preschool/daycare combo facility when my daughter was around a year. She absolutely loves it, and as a parent, I do too. They are incredibly nurturing and my shy kid has thrived here. It's a small space but they have a back yard and keep the kids busy with art projects, music and reading. They're following a preschool curriculum for the older 2-3 year old but it doesn't feel particularly structured. They also work on manners and potty training. I was surprised when my daughter started telling me "sorry" after misbehaving one day. I hadn't taught her to do that but they had! Bambi is also incredibly flexible, which worked well for my freelancer's schedule. They allowed us to go part-time for a while and then to switch to full time later. Also there is absolutely NO staff turnover which I think is unheard of in the area. Recommend (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend Would you send your child again? Absolutely
