  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Fort Greene How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 8 Review: Loved the field trips around the city and friendly counselors What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Water day and field day were the same each week. My child would have preferred going to different water playgrounds and parks in the city instead of the same spots every week.
  • Review from the 2023 Summer Camp Survey

Location: fort greene How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 5 and 7 Review: Every week was themed, e.g. animals, STEAM, skyscrapers, and there were field trips and projects, e.g. Natural History Museum, the zoo. They would also have park days, water days, and plenty of playground time. My kids liked the trips and activities, were meh on the lunch and snacks provided, didn't love the t-shirts they had to wear everyday, and sometimes complained about how much time they spent on the subway. But overall, they enjoyed it. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? It got more expensive from last year, so we might not do it again next year.
  • Iso: feedback on ymca summer camp

We also tried Backpacks & Binoculars and it was ok. (Not great, but ok.)
  • Review from the 2022 Summer Camp Survey

Location: Prospect Park How old was your child when they attended camp this summer? 6 & 8 Review: We were sorely disappointed (after having spent around $8k!) in several things, from the misrepresentation of lunches given to the children (“fresh healthy meals” was actually Chick Fil-A or pizza almost every day), to the activities they did (many days were spent at their facility doing self-play/board games). What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? The food, and they should or align expectations to match their pricing. This camp is far too expensive for what it ended up being, IMO ($675 per child per week for fast food, chips for snacks, and a movie projected on a wall as the highlight of the day). Would you like to add anything related to COVID and how the camp handled it? They managed Covid well

I love backpacks and binoculars. I signed my kids up (Marcel's 3rd year, Ashlee's 1st year) for the week of July 6th. We'll see how it goes.
  • 2019-2020 Year Review

Review: Great program that is accommodating to my child with special needs. My daughter gets bussed to the location by they do school pick ups for some kids. … About the facility: Has afterschool options, Provides meals … What would you change? I would love for some outdoor space but they frequent the park nearby.
  • 2019 Summer Camp Review

Location: Fort Greene Age: 4 & 7 Review: This is our 4th year with this camp. I've been very happy with their new space in Ft Greene, and happy with the quality of counselors. My 7 year old has been quite happy all summer, my 4 year old has been less happy even though she had a great experience last year. As usual the food is high quality although I think this year there is less variety on their menu. The big disappointment for all of us has been that there have been no trips to the pool this year and this has been poorly communicated to the parents. What would you change? Ensuring the kids swim weekly is key.
  • 2018 Summer Camp Reviews

Age of child: 4 Summer 2018 Review: He liked it. I thought it was really good. They did trips, provided 2 shirts (you can purchase additional shirts if necessary), a bookbag, binoculars, breakfast, lunch and snack. With us being 2 full time working parents, the food was clutch.
  • Review from the 2017 PSP Summer Camp Survey

Review: My child mainly liked this camp and it is less expensive than most similar camps for those who need a 10 hour day. If you could change anything, what would it be? I wish I had received the schedule further in advance. I also wish they gave more than 1 camp t-shirt with the package. Age of child: 7 Based on a Summer 2017 experience
  • Review from 2015 Summer Camp Survey

Age of Child: 6 Likes: Trips were fun and abundant, food was excellent, very well organized and run, great communication with parents, competent staff What would you change? Would you send your child(ren) again? Yes Do you recommend? Highly recommend
  • responses: drop-in summer camp

try backpacks and binoculars. They let you sign up for partial weeks and I think individual days.
