  • Landscaper and arborist recommendations

    For trees I second Arborpolitan.
  • Landscaper and arborist recommendations

For trees we hire Arborpolitan and they've always done a solid job, seem quite reasonably priced and also very easy to work with. I've seen their truck in Prospect Park so I believe they handle their tree care as well.
  • trimming of tree that is on the property border line

I have a tree that is firmly on my property but when Arborpolitan came to trim they shared the confounding and hilariously New York rule that any part of the tree over someone else's property line is their responsibility, regardless of where the tree is rooted/located. So when they trimmed mine, they trimmed literally up until the property line of the adjacent buildings, and branches ovehanging my neighbor's properties were left untouched. I'd recommend reaching out to Arborpolitan regardless because they were super great.
  • Arborist Rec?

Justin came by and talked to us about our trees- very pleasant - we are going to do the work ourselves but easy to talk to- not pushy.

We have used Arborpolitan over the years and have been very happy with them: https://www.arborpolitan.com/.
  • Tree removal service in Brooklyn

Justin and his team at Arborpolitan are terrific. They did some tree trimming and branch removal in our yard about 5 years ago and were knowledgeable, informed and professional. They were super careful about coming in and out through our house and there was little to no debris left behind.
  • Tree removal service in Brooklyn

We worked with Aaron Smith & team at Arborpolitan back in 2018 on the removal of a tree & the pruning of another. They did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with.
  • Tree removal service in Brooklyn

Arborpolitan recently removed a large branch from a neighboring yard that hangs over ours. They did a nice job and cleaned up afterwards such that we would have never known any work had been done.
  • ISO: Tree Removal

They pruned a very large tree for us, and removed a smaller dead tree (including grinding out the stump) about 2 years ago. There were some delays in getting the stump out (their grinder was in the shop for a while), but they were a pleasure to work with throughout, and extremely fair.
  • Referrals for Tree Trimming Services in Park Slope

Try reaching out to The Arborpolitan for a quote. They’re based in Red Hook. Additional pro-tip...if you can hold out until the winter months when they typically aren’t very busy, they should offer you a discount if you ask! A lot of trees have growth cycles that pause in the fall/early winter so it won’t matter so much at this point if you wait (unless it’s dangerous). They helped us deal with the several-stories-high overhanging branches of our neighbors very prolific, purple-staining nightmare of a mulberry tree, and also helped us with some minor filling-in of perennial plants in our garden.

Justin Rawson of Arborpolitan does excellent work and has a great reputation.
  • Re: ISO tree pruner

We recently used Arborpolitan. They were great. As it turns out tree pruning is super expensive! But their quote was competitive with another quote we got and the owner Justin really know trees. His crew was really great and left our yard and basement (where the debris was dragged through) in better condition than before. His crew definitely went above and beyond and were really friendly about it. Highly recommended!

It sounds like you are looking for an arborist. Try calling Justin Rawson at Arborpolitan. He is professional, local, and knowledgeable.
  • Re: Scales on flowering plum tree...help

Reach out to Arborpolitan and have them take a look. They can spray your tree. Usually an insect problem is indicative of a larger systemic problem. The insects are there because the tree is stressed and it's defenses are compromised. It is likely a soil issue.
