  • Review from the Spring 2023 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? May, 2023 Review: Anna is amazing, I couldn’t have gotten through the experience without her. Her knowledge of the process and willingness to work with you and the medical staff for the best possible outcome.
  • birth doula recommendation

Reach out to the Doula we used, absolutely amazing woman and you get paired up with another.
  • Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey

Best decision we made was hiring Anna. We had wanted to labor at home for as long as possible, and in the end, I was induced so Anna spent countless hours with us at the hospital, shepherding us through the process, putting both of our minds at ease so that we could enjoy the experience.
  • Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing Survey

Anna was an amazing resource during pregnancy, delivery, and even in the weeks and months after the birth. She was very flexible and attuned to our needs. We appreciated that she was very evidence-based but also understood the important role of the emotional aspects of pregnancy and birth.
  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

I would highly recommend Anna for anyone looking for doula services! She is very calming and was communicative throughout my pregnancy and once I went into labor. She is very hands on (even in a pandemic) when it comes to working through contractions, and it was so helpful to have someone who knew what to ask for and what options were available. I wanted to try to labor unmedicated as long as possible, and when I decided to get an epidural she was so supportive and continued to make sure I was in the optimal position for labor. She followed-up after the birth, as well, and came once we returned home from the hospital to help me breastfeed (and brought coffee!). She also made sure to communicate everything to my partner and made him feel more comfortable during the whole labor as well.
  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

Anna is just a lovely calm presence. She was spot on with her predictions about how I was progressing and how much longer I'd need until I was fully dilated. She applied pressure to my lower back, suggested positions on the bed, and was just great to have around -- even during the early stages when we were just sitting around chatting about our families and kids and Brooklyn. Highly recommend!
  • Doula recs?

Another vote for Anna Cheechov; I used her for both, very different, labors. Her counter pressure got me through my first (60 hour) labor.
  • Doula recs?

Anna Cheechov was with us for this most recent birth and she was wonderful. She was partnered with Raychel Franzen and I'd done all the pre-meetings with both of them, but then Anna was available the night of. I would have been very happy with Raychel as well, just haven't actually given birth with her in the room! I had a very straight forward vaginal birth, but Anna was really great with positioning and suggestions and very on-point with her estimates on when I'd be ready to push and how things were going to go. Oh, also, we were at NYP Downtown as well and I was with the Weill Cornell Faculty practice - not sure if that's the one you're with, but Dr. Daley was my primary and Dr. Wong did my delivery. In any case, she was familiar with those doctors and knew the nurses and PAs in the room with us.
  • Amazing Doula/Postpartum Support

This past spring another PSP family introduced us to Anna Cheechov and I just wanted to pass along her info to anyone who is looking for a birth doula or postpartum support. She is absolutely incredible! She is extremely knowledgeable/smart/experienced (for ex. coincidentally knew our labor and delivery nurse & OB who delivered me -- was so respected that they let her and my husband into the OR for my c-section which is quite rare) but also so kind, gentle and nonjudgmental. Because of her, even during pretty difficult medical situation, I felt empowered and calm. Second to my 7 mo. old daughter, she was the greatest blessing of my birth story. Happy to answer any questions about her or my experience. I really just felt the need, 7 months later, to help another family through connecting you to her. Anna is really something special. • ISO Doula familiar with Mount Sinai West and Birthing Center

I highly recommend the wonderful Anna Cheechov, who was our doula at Mount Sinai West and is very familiar with the hospital.
  • Review submitted via the 2016 Birth Survey

Anna Cheechov from NYC Doula Collective was a wonderful part of our birthing team! I ended up having back labor and had difficulty determining how things were progressing. Anna knew right away how far along things likely were and when we should head to the hospital. At the hospital, she blended seamlessly with the team of nurses and doctors on staff assisting with my delivery. This included working with the hospital staff to make sure that I had all the information I needed before making a decision and making sure we weren't rushed through the process. Throughout everything, Anna was compassionate, positive, and extremely knowledgable. After our son was born, Anna stayed around to help me work with him to latch (and got my husband a well deserved sandwich). At my postpartum visit, she was yet again an incredible resource as I struggled with breastfeeding. Her recommendations were right on point and saved us from endless amounts of stress and anxiety. Since we had difficulty with breastfeeding initially, she continued to check in over the next few weeks to make sure we were on track with his weight gain. All in all, we had an excellent experience with Anna and would highly recommend her without hesitation. Member notes about insurance: No
  • Re: ISO Doula for 12/27 Due Date?

Our doula Anna Cheechov was amazing, supportive, and completely non-judgmental when I gave birth in June with an epidural. I suspect that personally she probably favors natural birth, but she sees her job as supporting parents and babies in whatever they envision (and whatever happens since it's often unpredictable!). She's based near Prospect Heights (we delivered at Mt. Sinai/St. Luke's). Her profile says she's attended over 40 births but I imagine it's well over 50 by now. We highly recommend her

  • Review submitted via 2015 Birth Survey

I knew as soon as I was pregnant that I was going to have/take pain meds/epidural. She didn't make me uncomfortable with my decision and didn't try to push me into a natural birth. She gave me pros and cons and only Bc I asked her. Some of the Doula's I interviewed made me feel like I was doing something wrong. She had a infant at the time which I appreciated Bc she at least had been through the whole experience. I was induced and had an emergency c section so during the birth I didn't really utilize her but before the birth she had come over to rub my back and do some techniques to help me feel more confortable and try to stimulate birth. She talked me off the ledge several times where had I called my doctor I would have been admitted and sent home. I highly recommend her if you want someone to support you throughout the entire pregnancy. Insurance: It cost $1000; insurance didn't cover it. Based on a 2015 birth
