She was kind, knowledgeable and supportive every step of the way. I truly can't imagine having gone through this without her. Despite my birth ending in a c-section, her care before and during labor were unmatched. I would highly recommend her to any expecting mother. Any advice for people who are considering using a birth doula? Most OB practices have a rotating cast of doctors. Having a knowledgeable, familiar advocate in the room for you at the most crucial time is invaluable. If you are questioning if it's worth it— it's absolutely worth every penny and made my experience infinitely better than what it would have been without her.

Because I ended up with a planned c-section, she wasn't with us for the delivery but she was super helpful afterward and in preparation before. Any advice for people who are considering using a birth doula? Yes, use one! We debated it for a long time and even just knowing that we had someone to ask questions, etc removed a lot of stress.
- Review from the Spring 2022 Birthing SurveyI interviewed almost a dozen doulas before deciding to work with Angelica. She immediately stood out from other doulas because of her vast knowledge, ability to communicate that knowledge in an accessible way, and her warm confidence that she could help me have a positive birth experience. She listened intently to my previous birth experiences, understood how I would like my second experience to be different, and immediately had numerous tips and ideas that made me feel confident she could support me in my birth preferences. Angelica was always the first person I called after my prenatal appointments to help me process the information and emotions that came up. As a person with chronic mental health issues, I can say that she was the doula I felt most comfortable sharing my mental health challenges with and she was always able to respond appropriately and with empathy, which is not something I can say about other doulas and health care providers. When Angelica walked into my hospital room during labor, I immediately experienced a wave of relief. She provided so much comfort through soothing massage, verbal encouragement, communicating with medical staff, and supporting my partner. Most importantly she helped me listen to and trust my body throughout labor and postpartum. When my baby needed to be taken immediately to the NICU she advocated for me to have a few minutes of skin to skin which was such a gift and something that I would never have thought to advocate for myself. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better birth partner, cheerleader, support system, and advocate; Angelica brought so much knowledge, warmth, empathy, and confidence to my birth experience and I'm so grateful to have worked with her.
