  • 2018 Birth Survey

She was mostly very good but after my baby was born she failed to attend to the half of the membrane that was still inside. It remained there for ten days... decomposing... until it started to create discomfort and needed to be removed. She was meant to give me medication for it to come out and my husband and I both remember her remarking on where the other half of the membrane was. Other than this, she was good, very business like which we liked.

Andrea is incredible. My pre-natal care was more than I could have dreamed, and my birth experience was extraordinary. Andrea was no-nonsense, while at the same time completely loving, warm, and open to any and all questions I, or my partner, had. This was my first child and I didn't know what to expect--this made me a bit anxious at times. Andrea helped me calm my fears. Our care just ended a few weeks ago, and it felt like we lost a family member. Based on May 2017 birthing experience

Andrea Diamond is absolutely incredible, amazing midwife. She works with home birth only. She works with hypnobirthing techniques. She has holistic approach, honest, very responsive and caring. She educated my husband and me about making conscious choices whenever we had to make a birth-related decision. I can't thank her enough! Based on September 2016 birth experience

Andrea was wonderful. Very professional and organized. I liked that she communicated easily via email and had amazing resouces on her website and all my medical tests and records were online. SJe was also very caring and kind. I felt very well taken care of. Being an RN as well, I felt like I got agreat balance of a GYN and a Midwife as I did want some more specialized testing done etc... but also had a home birth. Based on June 2016 birthing experience
  • Re: [ANONYMOUS] PCP who takes Aetna and supports home birth plan?

You won't find anyone who is an "in-network" provider, as Aetna (and most plans) do not recognize or support Home Birth as an option. However, my midwife had a service that helped with all the insurance paper work and they fought to get me as much coverage as possible. It was not all of it. We still had to pay some out of pocket, maybe even more than we would have if we had gone to a hospital, but it was totally worth it and our midwife was great. Her name is Andrea Diamond. Her practice is Brooklyn Home Birth Midwifery. http://www.brooklynhomebirth.c om/ We had a wonderful home birth experience that I would be happy to discuss further if you want. I hope this helps!

Member Review: After interviewing several midwives for our home birth, we choose Andrea. Her calm demeanor, depth of experience and sense of humor made us feel very comfortable. She was a wonderful balanced experience for us: offering buttoned up western medicine practices (conducting labs as necessary, providing data and charting care) and less intervention which allowed us to let nature take its course. She talked with us at length about what we wanted or didn't want (in terms of medical procedures, environment, etc.) and strove to meet every desire. We ended up having the close, comfortable experience we desired. It was as perfect as I can imagine. Andrea works with several assistant so I think it might vary but the woman who came to our birth was lovely and caring. I'd highly recommend Andrea for a home birth. My husband and I are very grateful that we found her. Insurance details: Yes. She takes insurance and has a billing service that does the work so you interact with them instead of the midwife. This is a god thing since it allows her to deal with your care and the billing people to deal with insurance and money. Review based on birth of 2014 baby
