Amy is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in work with children and their parents around a variety of challenges (including anxiety, depression, aggressive behaviors, ADHD, learning disabilities, trauma, and social skills).

  • ISO child psychologist for an anxious 4 yo

    Amy is bonafide brilliant and has been a North Star for our family, supporting my son through some incredibly difficult times and helping him grow and find perspective. She is a truly lovely person and the kids instinctively pick up on that, they know they can trust her with the scary stuff. She also runs excellent social groups and camps which were nothing short of life-changing for our son.

  • Therapist for highly sensitive child

    I highly recommend Amy Weber, who has been great with my own highly sensitive child. I've also done virtual parenting consultations with Alice Shannon in California (no harm since everything is virtual right now anyway). She is a temperament specialist recommended by Elaine Aron, who wrote "The Highly Sensitive Child" (which, if you haven't read already, you should definitely read!).

    We use Amy Weber at Speak Learn Play. She’s great. We also have a defiant 4 year old, but he’s been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder.

    For social skills groups, start by calling Speak Learn Play (Amy Weber) and Gowanus Treehouse (Cathy Reid). And if they don’t have a group for your daughter’s age group, they may be able to suggest one. Both are located at 540 President Street space between 3rd & 4th Ave. I was just there yesterday for my son’s speech session. (Review submitted May 2016)
