Description
Amanda has called Brooklyn home for over a decade living in Williamsburg and settling in Park Slope where she purchased a co-op and served on the board as the treasurer. Before joining Compass, Amanda spent almost a decade working in the advertising industry on fortune 100 brands and applies the same strategies and marketing principles to the properties she represents.
She is a principal agent at Compass and has been responsible for over $100M in sales. This volume of transactions provides keen insight into what is happening in the market allowing her to guide clients on shifts and opportunities. Amanda’s eye for value has also made her a sought after resource for many investors who she works with to find under-valued properties that provide high returns.
Originally from Minnesota, Amanda has a true appreciation for Prospect Park and the historic Brownstones in Brooklyn. She is a Trustee of the Civic Council where she co-chairs the annual Food For Thought event to raise money for high school scholarships and is working with the historic district council on a landmarking initiative to preserve historically significant buildings.
Amanda has a passion for the construction and renovating process and is currently working on renovating a home she purchased in Park Slope. Her experience renovating and restoring properties allows her to offer clients insight to her clients. She loves helping buyers and sellers understand what projects will add the most value to a home and how to transform a space.

I wholeheartedly recommend Amanda McAvena from Compass. We enlisted her to help us buy our first apartment after several close friends recommended her. She's lives in Park Slope and truly knows the ins and outs of that neighborhood and the surrounding area. She was such a pleasure to work with, offered amazing support and resources, and completely guided us through the whole buying process. She also helped us negotiate our apartment below asking. Never pushy and always looking out for our best interest. We love her and always recommend her to anyone who is looking to buy or rent in Brooklyn.ISO : real estate agent recommendation
Amanda McAvena at Compass! She did an amazing job helping us sell and find a new, bigger place. She was so easy to work with, super communicative, and very patient during our search. She was so helpful helping us narrow down exactly what we were looking for and helped us see ourselves in a new space (and at the same time, she was patient when we’d see places that weren’t quite right).ISO : real estate agent recommendation

I highly recommend my agent Amanda McAvena with Compass. She’s been the agent for me and several of my friends and works with both rentals and sales. She’s absolutely amazing and goes above and beyond for her clients. We still keep in touch with her even after we closed on our apartment because she’s been a great resource and friend. She also lives in Park Slope and knows Brooklyn very well.
