  • Review from the Fall 2023 & Spring 2024 Afterschool Survey

REVIEW: My child adored this program - she learned to make beautiful Italian food, created lovely works of art that we displayed proudly in our home and made some sweet new friends. Best of all for me as a parent, was the option for school pickup! She was served healthy snacks, given time outdoors - the space has a beautiful garden - and was always happy to participate in the program. The director Stefania has a lovely approach with children, the class size is small and the attention to the children’s needs and personalities is wonderful. Skills learned: Cooking, art What would you change? I’m so glad they are opening at shape shifter on Union because the bond street location is a little less convenient Age of child: 3

My daughter has been participating in Allora's activities and events since she was a baby and it feels like home for us. Being a semi-italian family, Allora Is very valuable for us since it offers an opportunity to find activities in Italian and meet other Italian families. Stefania and her team are fun and creative, and each lesson and event is a party! We really hope Allora can thrive in Park Slope and continue being such an amazing place to play, learn, have fun and stay together.

I have been sending my two daughters (3.5 and 1.5) to Allora classes since 2021. Stefania, the director, is such a warm, affectionate and positive teacher to my children. The activities she comes up with are fantastic: cooking beautiful Italian dishes with great ingredients, making creative artworks, reading carefully curated books, imaginative and sensory play, working in the garden, having dance-parties etc. She doesn't impose on the children, but rather follows their lead and interests to make sure the class is positive for all of them. Unsurprisingly, they love spending time with her in her beautiful space - and my older daughter asks daily, do I see Stefania today? If you're looking for a quality camp, or after school program, with a caring and creative approach, look no further!
  • School holiday mini-camps for pre-K kids?

I asked on PSP a similar question in the spring and quite a few people recommended Allora. We sent our then-preK son for a mini camp and he loved it!
