Psychiatrist knowledgeable about medication for breastfeeding parent
I have been working with Dr. Alison Hermann at Mount Sinai for the past 18 months. Her specialty is reproductive psychiatry. I have been on medication for postpartum Anxiety and am still breastfeeding my toddler. She is incredibly knowledgeable about which medications are safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding and has put my anxieties at ease by citing numerous studies as well as her own clinical experiences. One caveat is she is not in network with many insurances- but if you have out of network benefits, I have been reimbursed for most of my sessions with her. I highly recommend her!
