  • Review from the Summer 2022 Birthing Survey

What month and year was your child born? May 2022 Review: I had a fantastic experience with Dr Adler and his team. I had several complications from a previous birth which led me to ask for a scheduled C section for this birth, and my request was accepted without argument. Dr Adler has a great bedside manner, a dry sense of humor, and was both friendly and professional throughout my pregnancy. He and his team pinpointed issues from my previous pregnancy that I was not aware of and will now be able to address, which I appreciate. The surgery also went well and recovery was not terrible. I also highly recommend Dr Lisa Podolsky and Dr Carol Rodriguez at this practice. The only complaint I have about this practice is that some doctors were more abrupt than others and seemed to rush through my appointments, but I think you’ll find that to be true at most OBGYN practices in NYC.
  • Review from the 2020 Birthing Experience Survey

Adler group has 7 doctors. Some good, some just ok. One doctor I really didn’t like (a man - the group is mostly female doctors). The person who actually delivered my son was, according to our doula, excellent. She was patient and encouraged a vaginal birth without episiotomy or forceps and apparently I was crowning for 45 minutes. I actually didn’t care about delivering vaginally but this doctor was very pro and apparently it’s good overall (her name was Dr Nouriel).

Dr. Adler is the main docotor for the NYOBGYN group but it is a group practice and I saw every doctor there. I went to their Brooklyn Heights location and the convenience factor was a big one for me. They had lots of appointments available early in the morning (8:15ish) and I was able to get my ultrasounds right there as well. Every doctor in the practice was available and the staff was great too. Most of my appointments were very quick and I tend to be low maintenance so it was a great fit. Based on a April 2017 birthing experience

REVIEW: A wonderful practice! There are 6-7 doctors (they've hired a few more since I started there, so I can't remember exactly how many), and they try to have patients see each one at least once during pregnancy so you'll know the doc-on-call during delivery at Mount Sinai. Each doc had their own style, but overall they were all very caring and engaged. I wasn't into doulas and home-births and all that - I'm all about the hospital and the tech and having everything at the ready just in case - they were very much in sync with my views. INSURANCE I had Horizon BCBSNJ at the time, now on Cigna, soon to be on Aetna (... long story) - no problems so far
