Single Mothers By Choice

This is a national organization. Most moms are thinking/trying/parenting children by donor insemination but there are also adoptive moms, myself included. There is a NY chapter that has monthly meetings on Sundays in the building that houses Whole Foods on Bowery and Houston in Manhattan and a Yahoogroup for nuts-and-bolts stuff (not for topical discussions). The national organization also has a Brooklyn chapter you can access once you join.

Parents Without Partners

Parents Without Partners is the largest international, nonprofit membership organization devoted to the welfare and interests of single parents and their children. There are local chapters in Bensonhurst & Staten Island. With it's own stand alone website and regular meetings on the second and fourth Monday of the month, the Staten Island chapter is active and dedicated to connecting families with each other.

Brooklyn Single Parents

This group is dedicated to being a single parent resource in Brooklyn. Members are 24/7 single parents, single parents by choice, single parents who are divorced or separating, single parents who share child rearing responsibilities with their ex and those who do not.

NYC - Single/Choice Moms Rock

We are strong, confident, multidimensional single women who chose to have children on our own intentionally from the start without a partner.  We are balancing motherhood, successful careers, and our social lives in NYC.

This website provides (for a small charge) e-guides & articles related to all the steps of becoming a SMC.
