HOW TO HASHTAG
Whether you post a new topic to the Classifieds email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or via the web interface, hashtagging is quick and easy.
EMAIL: Add the hashtag to your subject line (e.g., FS Breast Friend Pillow #babygear #northslope)
(NOTE: The hashtag needs to be a pre-existing hashtag and one you’re allowed to use or your message will be sent back to you).
ONLINE: Use the drop-down list of available hashtags in the new topic composition window.
Reminder: Hashtags go in the subject line of your post, not the body.

USING HASHTAGS TO HELP YOU
SEARCH: Use hashtags to search messages tagged with the same topic. For example, you can click on the #NannyRecommendation hashtag to search just the nanny recommendations. The #stroller hashtag can help you find all the ISO and FS strollers. Go directly to our list of HASHTAGS to start searching.
Note: we’ve purposely made the hashtags more general (#toddler) than specific (#toddlersoccershoes) for ease of use.
MUTE: You can also MUTE hashtags that are not relevant to you. You'll find the option to mute hashtags under every post in your digest that uses a hashtag. Click the hashtags you wish to MUTE and you won't receive those posts anymore. This is particularly handy if you are not looking for a babysitter or baby gear, for example.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Hashtagging works if we make it ubiquitous. Please make sure your messages are hashtagged (in addition to having a clear subject line/description of the question/post.)
If you repost an ad that the moderators have added hashtags to, please repost it with those hashtags added.
OTHER BASIC REMINDERS:
- Sign your posts (we appreciate you using personal rather than business signatures).
- Post location, price, and accurate condition of item.
- We do not allow posts for friends (have them JOIN PSP instead!).
- We can't post crib posts unless the crib meets June 2011 standards or later AND you state that in your ad.
