Comment:  I want to second the NYU Langone Laura Perlmutter Center for Women’s Imaging. I've been going there for a few years now.

Comment:  I highly recommend the NYU Langone Laura Perlmutter Center for Women’s Imaging on Lexington and 33rd St. The atmosphere is welcoming with tea, coffee and snacks offered in the waiting area. After changing into a comfy bathrobe you sit in a lounge full of couches and lots of reading materials. The staff is very friendly and professional. Overall there is a feeling of being in very good hands. After years of the kind of experiences you’ve described it was a big relief to find this place. I’d never go anywhere else!

Comment:  That sounds awful. I’ve gone to NYU a few times and it’s been very different from that. At NYU you wait in a main room and then are brought into a dressing area. They give you a locker for your things. After you put on the hospital gown-like top you’re in a smaller waiting area with just patients. Then you’re called in to do the mammogram. And then you’re taking to a private room for the results. The staff has always been lovely every time I’ve gone, which has been 3 times. Hope this helps.

Comment:  I go to nyu. There’s one ultrasound technician who is incredibly stern and silent who I’ve had a few times but the rest of the staff is wonderful and very friendly/chatty (talking helps me through the discomfort). I’m in an out in under an hour with both mammo and ultrasound usually and I can get results on the spot if I’m willing to wait (last time they were ready to talk to me before I was even done getting dressed). And I can vouch for privacy since I have the same last name as the funders (although I am no relation) and I get zero special treatment - which is how it should be.

Comment:  I highly recommend NYU. I’ve done both screening and diagnostic mammograms and sonograms there, and found everybody to be very professional. For the diagnostic (which I assume is what you are looking for if you’re having issues), the radiologist sat down with me and went over the images privately, and took time to answer all my questions.
