Comment:  HIGHLY recommend Cowlick barbers in Park Slope for shorter hair: https://cowlickbrooklyn.com/. Vivian (owner) and Leah/ Lex do amazing things with curly hair and are being very conscientious re: safety protocols. It's a very warm and positive, intentionally queer-friendly community space too.

Comment:  Cowlick on 6th St near 5th Ave has very strict protocols in place to prevent COVID spread. Both my husband and I got great haircuts there in the past month and we felt quite safe.

Subject:  ISO hair stylist for nonbinary teen
Comment:  There’s a new “barbershop” called Cowlick on sixth street just east of fifth ave in Park Slope. They actively advertise that they’re a queer space and indeed have appeared to be a welcoming environment each time I’ve walked past. I like the vibe of the place and that it’s super calm and grounded (lots of light and plants) and isn’t trying to be a hipster scene. Might be worth checking out.

Comment:  I accompanied someone to Cowlick , the new gender neutral hairdresser on 6th Street just off 5th Avenue . I was able to witness , while waiting, several creative and attractive hairdos being created and was impressed with the staff’s ability to make what can be a stressful experience for non binary kids and adults into a calm self -affirming experience . They are offering free back to school haircuts for kids this week. A very lovely addition to the community .
