Comment:  They have music once a week, art. My child loved music and also got grant for Opera, where a teacher came and will have a performance in the Spring. They have different section of activities, listening center, science, etc. The teacher uses Shutterfly to give updates, sends pic, etc. Would def send him again. … About the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, Use Children school for outdoor space which is nearby, has an exercise room. Afterschool was not for sure and originally wasn't going to happen. … What would you change? nothing

Comment:  We have been very happy at the little Brooklyn pre-k. Friendly teachers, great classmates with involved parents. Our daughter did not like preschool (3s programs) but loves her Pre-K. We had wanted a closer school but as we have no siblings matriculated we weren’t offered one but once she started here and loved it we decided to stay even though we got off the waitlist at full schools. … About the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals, No outdoor space but they go to a park down the street often and have a gym. … What would you change? Location isn’t the best for us and they don’t give great heads up for functions (a week or two out you get an email).

Comment:  Type: Pre-KAbout the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides mealsReview: It was a wonderful place. Very pleasant staff and rich curriculum. Encouraged my child to learn in every way possible. Highly recommend this facility. What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? I would have had more afterschool options. It is such a small place, we could not have afterschool in the building. Working parents had to scramble to find things available.

Comment:  I like the facility very much. I'm not thrilled w my son's teacher, but the place itself is very good. The program is well rounded. My child is thriving and learning a ton. The class to teacher ratio is good. 10 kids to 1 teacher and 1 para for my son. I like the administration. I feel like his teacher is just there watching a clock and doing the minimal. About the facility: Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Outdoor space and more organization to get the kids out of the building on the regular. Review submitted via the PSP 2016 PreK Survey

Comment:  Review: New facility - GORGEOUS. Small class size, wonderful teaching staff - all in all a terrific experience and our son is very happy. The one negative relates to the Admin/parent communication, I think these guys do their best but there has been a fair amount of conflicting info (typos in letters sent home), unclear dates etc. They have a shutterfly website set up for the class which is updated regularly so in terms of what truly matters, our kids and their education, its a great place and I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for next year. About the facility: Has early morning hours, Provides meals, beautiful new facility What would you change about the program, if anything, and why? Only that the administration was a bit more organized and communication back to parents more clear. Review submitted via the PSP 2016 PreK Survey

Comment:  Subject: Re: ISO Advice: Little BK PreK Center (3rd ave) vs PS280 Comment: Our daughter attended the Little Brooklyn Pre-K Center at Caton Avenue. It was a temporary site and, sadly, only housed the Pre K for this school year. (Apparently, they had an agreement with the DOE that it would be a one year site because they need more classrooms for the District 75 school housed in the same building.) However, nearly ALL the wonderful staff at our location is moving to the new location on 3rd Avenue. Any kids would be lucky to have them! Not only did we have a great experience with her classroom teacher, but the students also had music everyday ,as well as a residency with Studio in a School. We were in a similar situation in that the building itself wasn't actually finished being built until the week that school began. That was a little unsettling, for sure. But they got it together and we had a terrific experience. Hope this helps a bit. You have two great choices!

Comment:  Subject: Re: ISO Advice: Little BK PreK Center (3rd ave) vs PS280 Comment: We had the same choice and choose little Brooklyn pre k which is housed in ps 118 on 4 th Ave and 8 th st. Overall we have been thrilled with our teacher and the size of the center. It only has 4 classes. The art teacher is wonderful and very involved with the students also. The admin has been spotty but not troublesome. I think in part because the center was new this year and they were not up and running with a full supplied office when school started. The great news is both are awesome choices. We made our final decision based on location and ease if commute. We do walk a mile each way to school, but since the train is right there it made sense for us. Good luck!
