She was fine, although the office seems very busy and you don't get a lot of time with the doctor or personal attention. I decided to change doctors (changed to a midwife practice, actually) after a scare when my blood results came back with a positive screen for Downs Syndrome. I just found Dr. Peretta's approach to this so clueless and insensitive. She flipped open the file, read it for what appeared to be the first time, and said, "ok, so your screen came back positive for Downs." Then she arranged an appointment for me at Beth Israel's genetic testing department and said they would answer my questions. (The genetic testing department was great, and I appreciated that she got me an appointment with them that day.) As it turned out, this was just a screen, and the likelihood of Downs was still something minuscule, but was just over the line where they suggest more testing. (And in the end, all was fine-no Downs.) But, this being my first baby, I didn't know that, and she bluntly announced this as if the baby had Downs and then pretty much brushed off my questions and sent me elsewhere. I'm not even sure anyone had ever told me previously that they were doing a Downs test, and I don't know that I would have wanted one. All this, combined with the "churned through" feeling I had when I visited this office, made me decide that a midwife practice would be better for me. Insurance details: They take insurance. I have GHI and had no problems filing claims, etc. Review based on birth of 2014 baby
