    Subject:  Prenatal Exercise Classes?
Comment:  I've been going to prenatal barre classes at Xtend for couple months now (I did regular barre during my first pregnancy but like that I don't have to make modifications in a prenatal class). I've also done prenatal pilates at BodyTonic (on 5th) and Aline Pilates in Carroll Gardens, but I like Xtend's classes a lot more. I hate that I have to take the R train there but it's worth it for now. Pilates Garage (in Gowanus) also has private prenatal classes but, to my knowledge, they're the only other studio in the area that offers prenatal pilates.I haven't been to her classes yet this pregnancy, but I love Lara at Bend and Bloom.

Comment:  I’ve done prenatal pilates at Fort Pilates and Body Tonic (w Meerav) which has been good! There is also a Pilates place on Flatbush and a Barre place on 6th ave that I have yet to check out. I did Pilates w my first kid and found it so helpful!

Comment:  Merav is great too. She specializes in prenatal and postpartum. I didn’t see her as much because the classes weren’t convenient and privates were expensive.

Comment:  Body Tonic (https://body-tonic.com/) has a mommy and me pilates workshop which I really enjoyed - i can't say i lost a lot of weight out of it but it did miracles for my core/lower back muscles and posture.

Comment:  I did pilates before and after my son was born at Body Tonic, and the entire team there is amazing and highly recommended. I always did privates/ semi privates with Hristoula (my long standing instructor) but I also heard good things about the classes with Merav.

Comment:  I did post and prenatal pilates at Body Tonic. They helped me feel strong. I did pre-natal yoga at Area Yoga, it was relaxing but not strength building.
