Comment:  I am writing to recommend Buono Flooring who recently re-did the hallways in our new apartment. They were very easy to work with, reliable and professional. Their price was highly competitive (less than 1/2 what another floor company quoted us!). They did a beautiful job and even came back out very quickly when I realized that I hadn't asked for a quote on a certain aspect of the job. Both the people in the office and the people who came to do the job were courteous, professional and reliable

Comment:  Floors! We just had our hardwood floors redone by Buono's flooring last week. They did a good job in a tight time frame (we only had a few days where it would have been possible). We used Buono's once before a few years back and the quote that we got from them was much lower than Verrazano at the time. For our latest floor, Buono's just sanded and finished with satin water based finish, replaced some boards, and eased some existing doorway transitions. It was a relatively simple job in that we didn't ask them to stain or do anything unusual, and the apartment was completely empty. There was a little issue with some of the finish on the doorway transition, but they sent some guys over to fix it within a couple of days. They do seem to want to be in and out and paid right away, which works for me.The first time they did our floors, they left the apartment covered with sawdust. We asked them not to do that the second time, and they cleaned up much much better. I would recommend that you ask that of anyone.Downsides: 1. They did make us wait a couple of hours the first day to show up. 2. We did make that basic construction mistake of asking them to add on some board replacements after their initial bid, which added on an outsized cost in relation to the rest of the job. So, take a really good look at the floor and be sure to get everything you want done in the first bid if you can (as we should have).Anyways, overall we are happy with them, so it's a recommendation.

Comment:  These guys did a good job. We had our floors refinished, including 100+ year old original pine floors. They repaired the worst boards by taking other boards out of the closets (replacing those with new wood), sanded and finished. The estimate was for four days, but when the guys actually doing the work came in they said it would take more like six (it took six).

Comment:  We used Buono's Flooring Co., Inc. (718) 645-6934 this winter for our new apartment. We found then through PSP recommendations. They did a GREAT job! They had to recreate some of the inlaid border that was missing, replace some of boards that were rotted and sand and refinish the whole floor with water based poly. they were fast and efficient and very nice to work with! I highly recommend them!(may 2010)
