    Subject:  MICE ADVICE SUMMARY!
Comment:  After wasting months with an ineffective exterminator I called Green Earth Pest control (recommended by a friend who almost sold her house so bad was her problem). They are very professional, if not cheap, and I haven’t seen a dropping since. I liked that they cataloged with pictures all the places I needed to repair and gave an honest assessment of the situation so that now I have realistic expectations regarding the mouse problem. I live in an attached brick house that is 100+ years old and was never gut renovated. My basement is unfinished, and unless I have it finished (along with my neighbors), the mouse problem is unlikely to go away completely. However mice are seasonal tenants, and they likely moved into my house this year (after 4 rodent free years) because I have 3 construction sites around the house. Needless to say my neighbors have them too.Specifically, GE asked me to pull out ALL appliances (dishwasher, oven, fridge in the kitchen) but also everything close to the walls (book cases etc) before the technician arrived. They put mouse bait in the walls only, not in the house, close up all the holes with their own particular steel wool and document the repairs you’ll need to have done (by a contractor/handyman) in order for them to certify the house and activate the warranty (you have to send pictures of the completed work). It was eye opening when I compared it to the poor work the previous exterminator had done. I just wished I had invested in a professional service instead of months of what felt like whack-a-mouse - the ineffective treatment just made the infestation worse of course.Right now the mice seem to be confined to the basement and I’ll likely get on a quarterly plan for GE to treat the basement until I get it together and have it finished by a contractor (not happening anytime soon).

Comment:  Our building also uses green earth for bed bug examinations. They are fine, they got a dog so you'll have to lock up the cat but they give while lists of instructions and are communicative.

Subject:  2018 Need a bed bug exterminator
Comment:  We used Green Earth and highly recommend them. It's actually possible to have bedbugs exterminated with a heat treatment, although it costs almost $5000. On the plus side, no chemicals, no crazy prep and it's all over in 24h. If you can afford it, well worth it. Feel free to email me if you have questions, and good luck.

    Subject:  Moths eating clothes!
Comment:  Moths are very common. I live on the eighth floor of an apartment building on eighth avenue and last year we needed to have exterminators and massive cleaning done and we lost a lot of clothes. We live in an old building but while we can't get totally rid of them they are now under control. A great exterminator for this is "green earth pest control". I also use all year round some fantastic traps from "insects unlimited" which I get by mail. They have traps for both cloth moths and food moths. If you want to know more just contact me. But the biggest time for moths is from sept to December and from April through June. Ask all the cleaners in the area.
