50 States in 50 Days: Arizona

Our plates runneth over. We are now down to a mere handful of states left to find (see below). These two fab Arizona plates, the gritty, two-headed-snake-behind-the-last-chance-filling-station style version and the irrigated-golf-course-peopled-by-retirees rendition come to us from two of our most prolific licence sleuths, Havona and Katherine. Let us just say that were possible to apply their collective vision and resourceful to something like the economy, the recession would be history*.

Arizona, a.k.a. "The Grand Canyon State", was admitted to the union in 1912 (yes, that late). It is the 48th state and is bordered by New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, California it also lightly "touches" Colorado (but only when no one is looking). It borders Mexico on the South. Arizona is known for its beautiful scenery, its draconian immigration policy (sorry, but it's true) and is home of the Navajo Nation. Notable Arizonians include justices Sandra Day O'Connor and William Rehnquist, Zane Grey, Frank Lloyd Wright and Alice Cooper.
Thanks as ever for your continued dedication to The Cause. Now could somebody please find the Dakotas?

*Yes, as of yesterday the recession was officially declared "over" but many Americans are still majorly cranky about it.
