Comment:  We LOVE Pantomima. It’s an arts-based, child-centered Spanish-immersion daycare for 18-month-olds to 4-year-old. Diane, the lead teacher, has built a community of love and respect with the kids, and having the multiple ages reinforces this. It’s a beautiful place. And they are very flexible with scheduling, too. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals

Comment:  We've been extremely happy with Pantomima, our son has been there for one year since he began at 18 months. Diane, the head teacher, is very energetic and engaged with the children and has developed a wonderful play/theatrical based curriculum. It is a Spanish-immersion program, but we selected the program chiefly for all the dedicated teachers and general atmosphere of love, attention and inclusion. Our son is always happy and excited to go to school - lots of music, dancing, arts + crafts, experiments (textures/colors/senses), sharing with friends, and outdoor time. Currently, all children (18months-3/4 years) are in one large room, and I like the idea of the mixed ages. They are moving to a new space @ 41st Street soon, where children will likely be grouped closer in age, so TBD on how the new space and classrooms will function. About the facility: Has afterschool options, Provides meals What would you change? Nothing at this time, but we hope the program can maintain it's original spirit in the new, larger space and growing program.

Comment:  Pantomima is a year-round daycare for ages 18 months to 4 years, but in the summer they create a camp experience for a broader group of kids from 18 months to about 5 years old. Each week has a different theme (such as jungle, cooking, circus, etc), and the kids explore it through arts-based activities, learning new vocabulary and coming home with cute projects. (Pantomima is what I'd call a light Spanish-immersion, in that Spanish is regularly spoken and vocab is intentionally taught, but they are fine with switching back and forth English to make sure the kids know what's going on and are comfortable). They have capoeira class once a week and music class once a week, as well as guests such as a magician and a reptile guy (don't know how else to describe that-- but it's a professional group that knows how to work with kids). It's an extremely warm and nurturing environment, and my daughter has thrived there. Kids who are just there for the summer are embraced quickly-- my daughter comes home knowing their names, even ones who are there just one day a week.If you could change anything, what would it be? The latest pick-up time is 6 p.m., which we've been able to make work, but you do need to arrange for a sitter if you get home later than that.Age of child: 2 yearsBased on a Summer 2017 experience
