Comment:  My son participates in Super Soccer Stars and had a soccer birthday party last year in the fall. Their main venue on Atlantic Ave (upper 90) is great as it's an indoor turf field and the kids had a blast! Only down side is it's in the middle of their store so there's not a lot of room for parents to hang out on the outside of the field. They also offered Montessori on Court street as a venue for an additional fee. Hope this helps!

Comment:  My boys love Super Soccer Stars -- http://newyork.supersoccerstars.com/ -- which is the only one I know of. It is definitely fun/focused on motor skills (they're not, like, learning to play defense -- they're running and kicking balls, occasionally in the direction of nets, and having fun). Our nanny is the one who takes them but I don't get the impression from the very silly videos she sends me of the class that it's grooming them to become crazy/competitive, although the kids do wear matching tshirts! They played outdoors when the weather was warmer and switched to indoors at Upper 90 on Atlantic and Bond for the winter. I'm sure they also have Park Slope locations.

Comment:   Our six year old daughter participated in a Super Soccer Stars class near her school for the entire spring semester which is actually two ten week sessions of the class. Parents in her kindergarten class had organized a class with them to be just for us very close to the school in a church gym. This was fantastic. The parents worked together to arrange caretakers to transport the kids after school and they were great about having our group stay together. The application was online, it was affordable and we were allowed to determine the schedule based on the school schedule. T-shirts were sent to the kids prior to the first class and when we had a slight hiccup in the schedule, they allowed us to add on an extra class for a nominal fee. The class itself was made up of games that engage the kids at their level. Unfortunately, the thing is that all the kids were at vastly different athletic competencies and interest levels and there also seemed to be a break by gender in aggressive play. While the coach tried to manage this in some ways, we were disappointed that he seemed to eventually give up on some of the children and set up challenges that continued to be intimidating for those who were not as athletically comfortable. That said, our daughter our always told us how much fun she had at soccer and wanted to continue playing. The coach advised us that she might do better in an all-girls soccer class. We will see if we consider that for the future.

Comment:  Age of child: 3 Entertainment Type: Soccer coaches Review: The party activity was soccer and it was run by Super Soccer Stars. The coach and assistant coaches were fantastic. Very engaged with the children and made sure all of the children were included in the activities - understanding that some were shyer than others.

Comment:  Age of child: 3 Venue Review: The venue is also a soccer sports store, which causes a little confusion. However, they have an indoor field and a bleacher section for the parents to watch the party from. They also provide security to ensure that only invited guests are entering the field area. The security guard was also helpful in carrying in food, etc.

Comment:  Our four-year-old took a class with Super Soccer Stars at South Oxford Park this fall and he loved it. His teacher, Ghislaine, was fantastic. One of the best extra-curricular teachers I have ever experienced. They have many time slots and locations around Brooklyn. (July 2011)

Comment:  Program: mini-camp Age of Child: 2 Likes: My son loved the 40 minute soccer part but was bored during the arts and craft period and the rest of the time What would you change? They should have a more structured "arts and craft" period which is age appropriate. Also maybe add a lady that knows that kids need more than just chips and water for a snack and that 2.5 year old can NOT use urinals. Would you send your child(ren) again? No Do you recommend? Comment:  We enrolled my 2 year old daughter, Jane, in Super Soccer Stars this summer and we all loved it. The coaches are lovingly direct and I actually think Jane learned a lot. The flexible drop-in schedule worked really well for us, but some people might like the consistency of seeing the same kids every week. There were mornings when there were only two kids. I think the coaches do a good job of keeping the kids engaged, but there's always the distractible, clingy and wandering moods of toddlers to contend with. Overall--thumbs up for me. (August 2010)

    Subject:  GREAT program!
Comment:  My two daughters (ages 2 and 3.4) and I LOVE Super Soccer Stars! It is SO flexible, the instructors are great, and best of all, the classes are not game-oriented and thus are not competitive. The classes are just about learning skills and having fun. We highly recommend this program. It is a great introduction to the world of sports for children as young as 2 and up.

Comment:  My son did a couple of seasons with Pro Soccer Kids last year when he was 3 and really enjoyed it, we're planning on going back this spring again. I liked that they were more skills-focused, as opposed to trying to wrangle a bunch of 3 year olds into teams and trying to get them to play matches.
