Comment:  Our younger son goes to Tiny Steps daycare on 11th street and fourth avenue. We love that facility, having sent both our boys to it. The head teacher, Lena, is so loving and a good partner with us. She helped potty train our firstborn, and has been helping with our younger son's nap schedule. Mariana, the other teacher, is also so sweet and loving. It's a small in-home daycare center. They offer music, Spanish, yoga, baking, and do a ton of projects, and it's just a chill place with lots of toys, cute kids, a big backyard, nice caregivers and families. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals What would you change? They don't open until 8 a.m., but you can pay extra to drop off at 7:45 a.m.

Comment:  We are new to the site with a three month old, but have found them warm and friendly. They have been very accommodating towards our schedule. Their space is very nice though difficult to bring a stroller into. Baby smiles every time he arrives and sees the caregivers, so we feel like he is happy there. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, Allows for cloth diapers. What would you change? Would like more daily info and pictures (over the basic of food and diapers). But this is more an issue with daycare in general versus this site.

Comment:  Good daycare with yoga, Spanish and music class. My daughter is really happy there. They send pics and really love the kids. Communication with the main administrator could be better and I have heard there can be turn over at other locations but haven't found it to be an issue. About the facility: Has outdoor space, Has afterschool options, Has early morning hours, Provides meals.

Comment:  They follow a curriculum (Mother Goose Time) and the teachers are great at engaging the kids. The head teacher has been there around 7 years. My kids eat well balanced meals (which I don’t have to prepare!) and are excited to see the teachers. My daughter was completely ready for pre-K thanks to them! About the facility: Has outdoor space, Provides meals, Yoga, Spanish and music weekly What would you change? More outdoor time in the winter (they are outdoors everyday in the warmer weather).

Comment:  Age: 2-3 years Review: My son has thrived at tiny steps. At 2.5, he can count to 10 in English and Spanish, sing the ABCs, and even do some yoga poses thanks to the classes there. He has a lot of fun and has become very social. He runs right in the door most mornings. The teachers have a lot of energy. They don't give a ton of feedback on the day-to-day, but they are very open and direct with any issues and discipline plans with the parents to take care of any problems. My son will attend this location from 18-months until pre-k. PSP note, this member previously reviewed this facility in 2015.

Comment:  PROGRAM: 11th st and 4th Ave TIME: full time AGE: 1-2 years2-3 years REVIEW: My son has thrived in Tiny Steps' toddler program, which he started at about 18 months old. He was at first the youngest kid there, which made me nervous, but he loved playing with the bigger kids (up to 3 years old), and is extremely chatty in no small part to this I think. By 2, he has picked up most of the alphabet, can count to 10, loves doing all the cute craft projects, apparently is very good at yoga (I have no idea, but the teachers have told me this). In addition to yoga, tiny steps does music and Spanish classes once a week, and daily circle time, plus lots of playing in their big back yard. (I've witnessed the toddler Spanish class and that teacher is a saint.) the caregivers are really lovely, especially Ana and Lena. They're young and have a lot of energy and my son loves them. They're also really honest about stuff going on at daycare. They told us when another kid hit our son and how they dealt with it, and also talked to us when my son was going thru a big no-sharing phase. I feel comfortable leaving my son there each day and would recommend to friends. WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN? Absolutely

Comment:  PROGRAM: 11th street between 4/5th Ave TIME: Full day (8-6), 5 days a week AGE: 1-2 years REVIEW: My daughter is probably one of the youngest in her class of 12ish children (18months-preschool). Tiny Steps follows the "Mother Goose Time" school curriculum (I know nothing of curriculum, but this one seems sufficient). They feed her all her healthy/organic meals and snack, they have a large backyard, the students participate in yoga, spanish and music class weekly. They have 2 consistent teachers who my daughter (and the other children) adore, and 1 rotating teacher (who I believe is at the other locations through the week?). They were great about helping us all during her pacifier transition, and I'm feeling confident in our team approach to potty training when the time comes. I really enjoy this program because it's a balance between play and education. WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN? Absolutely

Comment:  Review date June 2013 (for 2012-2013 year)Program: Length of time: Part Days Child's age: 2-3 yearsReview: For the most part the instructors are involved, although there were one or two that didn't do as much to instruct/entertain the kids. It is a daycare, but they do work on numbers and letters, there are art projects and music/language instructors. The facility is very clean and well organized (especially compared to some other day cares we toured). They were very open to helping our child with transitioning into the facility and to sleeping on a mat. We did have one incident where another child hurt our child, and we weren't told about it until we inquired. I do believe it was just an oversight, but it was a concern at the time. We receive daily feedback (upon request) regarding eating, sleeping, toileting and day-to-day behavior.Do you recommend? (Hi/Rec/DoNot) Highly recommend

Comment:  Review date June 2013 (for 2012-2013 year)Program: Length of time: 3 1/2-days per week. Child's age: 1-2 yearsReview: The caregivers are caring, generous and warm. The environment is one where my daughter seemed very happy. There were a few caregivers she specifically connected with. I received a report each day sharing what my daughter ate and diaper changes and was told how she did verbally at the end of the day as well. The only issue is that one beloved caregiver left midway through the year and there seems to be more turnover in teachers lately than I would desire, but it's possible it's just a phase.Do you recommend?
