Subject:  Tummy Time Class, Tuesdays 1pm
Comment:  I just wanted to give a shout out to Dan Rindler's tummy time class. A 6 week session is beginning tomorrow at a home in prospect heights and there is still space to join. I did an 8 week class and it was such a great way to bond with my baby (who was 12 weeks old at the time) and I learned many good techniques for interacting with her and encouraging her to develop new movements. She has also gotten more comfortable on her tummy. I highly recommend this class!

    Subject:  Child'Space NYC_Wonderful Resource!
Comment:  I'm writing to share my experience working with Dan Felding, Feldenkrais practitioner and founder of Child'Space NYC, because I think he's a wonderful resource for parents in the area... I enrolled my daughter(who will turn 4 months next week) at 10 weeks and we've had a great experience taking the classes that Dan offers at Gumbo (on Atlantic Avenue). I've learned a tremendous amount about [my child]'s development and I've seen her grow beautifully with Dan's guidance over the last few weeks. I highly recommend checking out the opportunities: http://www.childspacenyc.com/

Comment:  i second the recommendation for this class -- after i took him to a demo in park slope, my son attended the class at gumbo in boerum hill. my nanny, who was a skeptic, was totally won over after the first class. the combination of music and movement together is really great, and he also teaches elements of basic infant massage. dan was also able to give advice about what NOT to do with him, which i found helpful as a first time parent. the classes are small so he gives individualized attention to every baby, no matter what their stage. i only wish we had started sooner!

Comment:  I just wanted to give a shout out about an amazing class I found here in Park Slope -- my son is almost 3 months, and I was eager to find a fun activity we could do together before I had to return to work. Luckily, I found Child'Space NYC, where teacher Dan Rindler offers "Music & Movement" classes for pre-crawlers and crawlers.I was able to start my son at 5 weeks, and the classes are exactly what I was looking for after my son was born -- a program for younger babies that would teach me how to interact with him in a meaningful way. Dan is a great instructor and provides all sorts of exercises and techniques that parents can easily practice with their babies at home to help develop movement and speech (and help them enjoy tummy time). He even provides a CD of his wonderful songs (which my son and I both love!) so you can reinforce everything at home. I've seen huge strides with my son already. Highly, highly recommend! A mini session is being offered in August, and then, I believe, regular sessions start back up in September (http://childspacenyc.com). I'm not affiliated with the program in any way, just a happy parent!

Comment:  2 classes: Pre-crawlers and Almost Crawlers/Crawlers Location - Birthday PresenceHow old is your child? (or the age when he/she attended this program)? Age: - 3What did you/your child like about this program or class? My son hated tummy time. Dan (teacher) had a unique and different approach with every child. I believe that this class helped my son to start rolling, sitting and crawling early. Every class was fun and educational. I was able to take away things I to do at home. What would you change about the program? By the end of the program we had very little group activities. I think babies really enjoy these. Would be great to have them at every class. Will you send your child back to this program or class again? (Or would you if you could?) YesWould you recommend this program to other parents for their child in the future? Highly recommendIf there is any other information you want to provide, let us know here: Under the age section it doesn't let me specify. My son was 3 months when we started. And he was almost 7months when we finished.

Comment:  "I found this class to be very informative, practical and fun! Dan gives great suggestions and easy-to-implement techniques for helping babies tolerate (and eventually enjoy) tummy time. He uses songs, as well as hands-on strategies, so that busy moms and dads can recall what to work on during the rest of the week. I started the class with my 4 month old who cried after 20 seconds on his belly...now I have a 6 month old who can play for 20 minutes on his belly, push up and reach on extended arms, and pivot and roll in all directions! The class is also a nice opportunity to meet other mothers. I did wish that the class was a little longer (it's only 45 minutes), since interruptions like feedings and diaper changes do happen! I do recommend this class if you are concerned about your baby's motor skills, or if you're looking for a fun way to bond with your child while meeting other parents."

Comment:  Dan’s class was great! I saw a lot of development in my son from using the techniques Dan teaches, and the class gave us the opportunity to meet other babies and moms in the Slope. My son was 4 months old when we started Dan’s class, and was not a big fan of tummy time. Now three months later, PJ never wants to be on his back! Dan gave me helpful tips to encourage optimal development, and lots of fun activities to do at home with PJ. What I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to interact with my son without distractions like a blackberry, computer, and other responsibilities. It was also great fun to watch PJ’s interest in the other babies grow as time went on, and Dan’s class helped me meet other local moms. The entire group bonded well, and we continue to see each other even though the class has ended. PJ is crawling now, and we are very excited to continue with Dan.
