Comment:  There's a private back room at Park Slop Ale house. It's free to reserve/use the space and you can decorate any way you'd like, play music, etc and for the cost of just getting some apps/drinks was very affordable. Parties are up to 30 people. There's a private side entrance so people don't have to walk through the restaurant/bar area to get to back.

Comment:  I'm no hamburger connoisseur, nor am I an ale connoisseur, but I have to put in a huge affectionate plug for the Park Slope Ale House at the corner of 5th Street and 6th Ave. It's a cozy corner and a cozy place, and our go-to place both for the ridiculously rare date night and occasionally with the kids or visiting family. It's very child-friendly-- the place is packed on Fridays at 5:30 with families and their children. And it's open in all weather. I remember taking the family there one blizzardy evening a couple of years ago and sitting by the window with a hamburger and a beer watching the snow continuing to smother 6th Ave. I love that place. And when I just can't face a hamburger and a huge plate of (their admittedly indifferent) fries, I get a portobello sandwich or bowl of pretty good chili. I think a huge hamburger, fries and a beer will set you back $16 or so, and probably < half that for a children's portion of hamburger, chicken fingers, or mac and cheese.(September 2014)

Comment:  My husband and I are big fans of Park Slope Ale House on 6th Avenue and 5th Street. They have great food - delicious burgers as well as really nice salads if you want to go that route, the service is always good and they don't mind if you linger. All around good neighborhood joint.
