Comment:  Doctors were excellent as were preterm and labor nurses. Post-partum nurses were old school and could use more education in modern practices re breastfeeding, consent, etc.

Comment:  Birthing staff and nurses were amazing. Birthing room was comfortable and large with a beautiful view. Post partum I was able to get a private room and the nurses were once again fantastic. My only negative experience was with the pediatrician that saw my baby and did his circumcision in the hospital. She didn’t communicate well, took the baby out of the room while I was sleeping so I woke up in a panic, and then sent a student to do the follow up with us after the procedure.

Comment:  Member Review: The entire staff, from nurses to the folks that delivered our food, cleaned our room and took care of us and our son, were all incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. We felt very cared for. Do you recommend? Recommend I would try to get a private room. They are more affordable than some of the other hospitals and much more spacious than if you were in a shared room. If you are traveling there in the middle of the night, take the west side highway and not amsterdam avenue. Insurance details: We had no insurance issues.(Review submitted via the 2014 Birthing Survey)

Comment:  It's a little bit of a trek, but the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital emergency room in Washington Heights is top notch. We spent a night in the ER there last year for a scary head bump, and felt like we were in the best possible place. If it's an emergency, but one that allows for the travel time, I don't think you can do any better.(December 2011)
