Comment:  She is one of 5 in the practice and probably my least favorite. She can be a bit short and cold, though I had total confidence in her knowledge and experience. She did not deliver my first child (the midwife in her practice did) but delivered my second via c-section. I do wish she had offered more advice regarding post-op care.

Comment:  Dr. Rhee delivered my baby, she was the doctor on call with my practice. Dr. Rhee is so great. She was upfront and honest about my birth which ended up being a last minute (but not emergency, so key!) c-section due to baby's positioning. Dr. Rhee tried so hard to deliver the baby vaginally but in the end it was just not happening. Dr. Rhee is super qualified and I felt like I was in great hands during the surgery and throughout the whole process with her. My birth was not straight forward and easy, and she helped me decide what I wanted to do at every step. Her advice was spot on and I should I have done what she advised from the minute I stepped into the hospital, but I really wanted a vaginal birth but it was just not working. Dr. Rhee delivered 11 babies during her days on call when I had my son and I was her only c-section. I believe it was the only way he was coming out safely (so did Dr. Rhee). I'm so happy with my entire journey at this practice. The subway ride to the UWS is worth it for a great birth experience and for caring doctors, all of them are really wonderful. I would recommend Dr. Rhee to anyone she has 30+ years of experience and is a great solid doctor. My dad (also a doctor) was so impressed by my scar (it's barely there). My appendix scar is way worse.

Comment:  I've seen a couple of people who recommended Dr Shulina. I loved my OB from the same practice, Dr Rhee. I had twins and Dr Rhee is one of the few OBs who are willing to go for a vaginal twin birth. Also loved mount Sinai west!

Comment:  I loved my obgyn! She's very experienced with twins and will do everything to facilitate a vaginal birth if that is what you would prefer. I also ended up switching from another obgyn to her.The other three obgyns in her practice are wonderful as well. Dr. Nabizedeh was the obgyn on call for the birth. Had a bit of an emergency and I couldn't have felt safer and more supported.Several of my friends delivered with this practice as well. All the best with your pregnancy! Hope you find someone you trust.

Comment:  She is no-nonsense and has a dry sense of humor, which may not be for everyone, but was perfect for me. She pegged me immediately as a worrier and insisted I stop Googling pregnancy symptoms; instead she told me two books I could reference and said to e-mail her if they didn't answer my questions. This proved invaluable for my peace of mind.Visits with her were short and did sometimes feel rushed, but I felt that the fact that they started on time and she was available by e-mail between appointments made up for this. She was a total rockstar at my birth, which did not go as planned. My doula, who has attended over 100 births (and several with Dr. Rhee), said that any other OB would have given me a C-section, but with Dr. Rhee's level-headedness and ingenuity I was able to deliver vaginally and gave birth to a perfect, healthy little boy.Based on 12/2017 birth experience

Comment:  Highly skilled surgeon on call for my emergency c-section. In general, strong bedside manners and caring demeanor (with one exception, where during advanced labor I overheard her say something she probably shouldn't have said in front of a laboring woman in pain).Based on September 2016 birth experience

Comment:  Dr. Rhee was knowledgable and thorough. She wasn't an alarmist which I appreciated however I also felt a bit rushed in appointments with her. She was my primary OB but I saw everyone in the practice at least once and she not who delivered my baby. I did really like the practice as a whole, even though they were located far (UWS).Based on May 2016 birthing experience

Comment:  Member Review: Dr. Rhee is one of the handful of physicians who supports labor and birth in Mount Sinai-Roosevelt's Birthing Center, which is the main reason I switched to her practice. At 25 weeks, despite being deemed low-risk, other doctors delivering in the birthing center deemed me "too late" in pregnancy to take on as a patient. Dr. Rhee was happy to welcome me and support my wishes for a natural birth. This was my first pregnancy and Dr. Rhee patiently explained all the screenings, tests, and procedures that would happen from start to finish. My other physician made me feel like an observer to my own pregnancy but Dr. Rhee helped me feel like a participant in the entire process and answered questions I didn't even know I should have. Unfortunately, a natural birth was not possible for me because my baby was breech, but Dr. Rhee was helpful in suggesting homeopathic, alternative, and finally traditional medical interventions to help turn the baby. Dr. Rhee is very matter-of-fact which my husband and I found to be an invaluable asset. That said I could see how a more sensitive person might perceive this as brusque or insensitive. Overall my experience with Dr. Rhee was great and I would not hesitate in recommending her. Insurance details: Accepted my United Healthcare Choice Plus insurance. Office took care of all claims filing. Review based on birth of 2014 baby

Comment:  Member Review: Dr. Rhee and her practice deliver at St. Luke's Roosevelt. The one with the Birthing Center in the hospital, which we wanted to use, and the reason why we sought her practice out. Dr. Rhee ensured that even if we didn't get to be in the birthing center proper, she would treat me as though I were in there. And when push came to shove, she actually did! I couldn't be happier with her addressing my concerns and informing me of my options surrounding my first birthing experience. Insurance details: Yes, and I had no need to intervene on any insurance matters what so ever. Review based on birth of 2014 baby

Comment:  Dr. Rhee was my OB/GYN throughout my first pregnancy and was on call the night I gave birth. She helped me through a long, painful, non-medicated delivery. Due to the position of the baby and my small pelvic anatomy, I had to push for four hours. Throughout the entire delivery, Dr. Rhee was extremely supportive and did everything she could to ensure that I gave birth vaginally. When I expressed doubt in my ability to keep going, Dr. Rhee gave me the encouragement and positive reinforcement that I needed to persevere. She stayed on for two hours after her shift ended, and, along with Dr. Roston, I was finally able to give birth to a healthy baby boy. She visited me two times during my stay at the hospital and was extremely warm and caring during her visits. I definitely plan on staying with Dr. Rhee for future births.
