Comment:  I can second Dr. Witherell at Animal Kind. We've also really liked Dr. Ogawa and Dr. Jaffe there, too.

Comment:  I see Dr. Witherell at Animal Kind on 7th Ave. and 11th St. for my 16-year-old cat. She's incredibly patient and has great bedside manner with both felines and humans, and she is also very upfront about what can be done and the costs involved. I'm on a pretty tight budget, and she gets that, and we'll often skip tests and procedures that may be helpful, but aren't absolutely necessary.

Comment:  We’ve had wonderful experiences at Animal Kind navigating my dog’s absurd number of medical problems. (On that note, I strongly recommend getting pet insurance early on before your puppy develops any “pre-existing conditions”. We have Trupanion and love them).

Comment:  We also go.to Animal Kind. We've seen them all, but Dr. Silverman really went above and beyond when our previous dog died. It's not a fancy office, but the staff is great.

Comment:  I’ve been taking my dog to Animal Kind (7th Ave b/w 10th & 11th) for almost 10 years now (I have a 14yr old pug). I mostly see Dr. Wetherell who I really like, but haven’t had a bad experience with any vets there.

Comment:  We had a good experience with Animal Kind on 7th. One of our cats had medical issues which is why we decided to board them when we were in Europe. They took good care of them and got quite attached to them. People who worked there used to stop me in the street to see how they were doing. I know that's probably a silly thing but it demonstrated to me that they cared, and that was reassuring.

Comment:  I highly recommend Animal Kind, and have had only positive experiences, particularly with Dr. Salas. She is about the most thoughtful, thorough and caring vet I have ever met (and I've met many I like!) She really considered the big picture when treating my somewhat frail cat and explained her rationale completely. And, more importantly, my cat has been in much better shape since visiting her. Also, they have a groomer there which is so convenient if you have to bring your pet in. The grooming was not cheap but so worth it as a hassle-free option. Overall, a great experience there!

Comment:  I am a big fan of Animal Kind.We took our elderly cockapoo there when we moved to the area, and were very happy. Everyone we saw was super professional, knowledgeable, reasonable, and compassionate. No one tried to bully us in to extreme life saving measures at the end, or along the way, which was not our experience at other practices. (where we often felt profit was motivating the course of treatment). The summer before our dog finally succumbed to heart failure, we had an emergency with him upstate. It was a holiday and we couldn't find any vet anywhere that was opened. Finally we called Animal Kind for advice and they dialed around till they found someone. It was really above and beyond, and probably helped us stave off the end for another six months. They were very compassionate when the end came. When we get another dog we will definitely use them again.October 2012

Comment:  We were very happy with the cat grooming services at Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital. We have a long hair cat that began to take on yeti properties and we couldn't keep up with the matting. The resulting lion cut was very effective and $50. Plus, I like that if something in the grooming process went awry, the vet was literally right there.August 2012
