Comment:  The Mount Sinai Jaffe Food Allergy Institute is great. As a mom of an allergic child with some pretty serious anaphylactic reactions in her history, we chose them over the more local allergists. We like Dr. Kattan but have seen others in the practice as well. They also do clinical trials. I think there might even be OIT now, but we are not part of that.

Comment:  Mt. Sinai has the best - the Jaffee Pediatric Allergy Institute. It's tough to get an appointment and is on UES, but it's excellent. We lucked out and got in the next day due to a cancelation so it's worth a try.

Comment:  We went to Jaffe institute at Mt. Sinai hospital, but i am thinking of switching because it is too far, and pretty difficult to get an appointment. I forget the ladies name, but there are three docs, and i heard all of them are good, and it just depends which one accepts your insurance, because they all take different insurances.(November 2011)

Comment:  The best pediatric allergists in the city are at the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mt. Sinai in Manhattan. They are on the cutting edge of pediatric allergy research and treatment, and all the doctors there are amazing. Just Google it and you'll find the info. Both our kids go there and we feel we're in extremely capable hands. Good luck, X, who has a child with multiple food and environmental allergies.(November 2011)

Comment:  I highly recommend going to the food allergy center at Mt. Sinai. They do a very extensive evaluation and provide feeding challenges if necessary. You have to be patient b/c it takes a long time to get an appointment but they are really the experts.(November 2011)

Comment:  Our daughter has food allergies and we have been very happy with the Jaffe food allergy institute at Mt Sinai- they are really the experts in this area. We see Dr Cox but I think all the docs are good. Definitely worth the trip to Manhattan. They not just know the latest research but seem to really get what it is like to have a child with food allergies (the practical and emotional aspects). They take things seriously but are non-alarmist when its not needed. We went somewhere in Brooklyn first (that was highly recommended) and were not comfortable there.(November 2011)

Comment:  We are happy with Dr Amanda Cox at Mt Sinai's Jaffee center. it's the major research hub of food allergies in the city. it's a long haul to get up there and you need to make an apt way in advance. but if you think your child's situation might be a complicated one, they are the go-to place. also have a good nutritionist on staff.(November 2011)
