Comment:  you are definitely not alone, you are entitled to your feelings and Parents Helping Parents is a great option to a $200/shrink :-) Or maybe look for a cheaper but equally helpful shrink! They exist and work great. I totally share the anxiety of trying to solve a problem (anxiety, anger, etc) creating another one (bankruptcy!!!!!!!!!) LOL!I have 2 boys, one is 9 and the younger one is 2. For many reasons, my older one has a huge role in his little brother's life and I try in many ways to alleviate that because I feel he should not bear too much responsibility, but simply love, fun, and being a good role model. I always think of the story in the movie RAY, 2004. It has always been on my mind ever since the little one arrived. Watch it on Netflix, and just use entertainment as therapy, which works particularly well for anger. Great soundtrack, anyway.

Comment:  Sharon Peters runs Parents Helping Parents. She is not a psychiatrist, more of a therapist/family counselor. She is very flexible about the way that families use her services. We see her every few months for a check-in over the past few years, and more recently we have been going more frequently and getting our kids directly involved with the meetings. She is very kind and gentle. I can't comment on how she is with kids alone, but in the meetings we (parents) have had with her we've found a lot of comfort and support. She helps parents shape reasonable expectations about what kind of behavior to expect from a child. She suggests ways to interact with children about problems that are age appropriate. She tells us frequently that parenting today is so much different from just a generation ago, and seems to feel that these changes must be taken into account in parenting today. We like her a lot.Insurance Issues I dont think she takes any insurance.
