Comment:  If you are looking to cry it out, she would be great. Otherwise, I'd recommend looking for someone else. She was helpful for CIO and coming up with a schedule when that was what we wanted, but she didn't have other ideas when we didn't want to CIO.

Comment:  I used Janet right after my first was born. I was having serious insomnia. She was so incredibly helpful that I only had to go three times and I was literally cured. I still think about her advice six years later. I highly recommend her!

Comment:  We used her for sleep training when our son was 5 months old. We opted for an in the office visit (which I think included one email follow up) and then we also bought a package of follow ups that were just email or phone (we did all email) and used them over several months as we transitioned from 3 to 2 naps, had early wakings etc.She has a nice demeanor and then for follow ups will review all the data you send and make recommendations based on that and answer any questions you have. I don't know if you have an approach you are leaning towards but her opinion is that crying is the most efficient and successful approach. She will work with you on other approaches though if that's what you prefer. We had reached a point where we were ready to do crying, but with checks (sort of Ferber approach) but honestly I was sort of a wreck about it and she explains it and re-frames it as part of a developmental process, for baby and parents, in a way that I found really helpful. If you have any out of network mental health coverage with your insurance you may get reimbursed for some, we did.

Comment:  We hired Janet Kennedy. She is a very nice person, we did the at home consultation. For us, it was not worth the $600(!). She gave us good advice, but it was a little generic. Not to say it doesn't work for some people, but it didn't work for us, and she didn't offer up any further customized solutions when it didn't work and we let her know. We followed the advice to a T and reached out via our followup emails, and her response was that our child would eventually grow out of it in a few years(!).She gave similar advice to our friends, who did not even follow it as well as we did, and they got their child to sleep an hour earlier at night and 45 minutes later in the AM, which sounds amazing to me.So, it sounds like it will come down to your child and if the one size fits all approach does indeed work for them.

Comment:  I highly recommend Janet Kennedy (http://www.nycsleepdoctor.com/). We hired Janet a couple of years ago to help us sleep train our older daughter when she was 22 months old and again earlier this year when our younger daughter was 3.5 months old. She was great at helping direct us through it all and now we have two very good sleepers.

Comment:  So sorry you are struggling with insomnia. I highly recommend dr. Janet Kennedy for this. She has hours in both manhattan and Brooklyn. She helped me break a cycle of months of crippling insomnia. Good luck, behavioral therapy really works for this!

Comment:  We used Janet Kennedy to help us sleep train our baby, and she was a big help. I'm pretty sure she works with toddlers as well.
