We've been to the Creative Cooks space twice and both were great
experiences. Our son's Beansprouts class did a field trip there and he loved
it so much we did his birthday party there,
The owner, Emily Rios runs a very good operation. The space is bright and
clean, there is a nice work space for cooking and a section for playing
inside and outside. She teaches them to wash up before cooking, and the kids
love wearing the aprons, etc. For me, she has the right balance of firm &
friendly that is necessary to learn cooking in a safe and fun environment.

Also, she is a Brooklyn mom with school age kids.

Fabulous birthday party

We had my daughter Lulu's birthday party here last weekend and it was a huge success. They made dumplings and then decorated cakes and it could not have run more smoothly. Tomasin was wonderful and the space is perfect - they have thought of everything from multiple sinks, little aprons, low chairs and even some toys for down time. Highly recommended.

I'm currently taking my 3-year-old to this class and it's really a cut above. Emily Rios and her co-teacher Lisa are great with the kids, and the 90 minute class is well organized, and structured just enough to keep things flowing nicely, with playtime, stories and singing interspersed along the way. My son is one of the pickiest eaters on the planet, so it's really gratifying to see him excited about cooking and proud of the results, even if he doesn't always eat what he makes. Emily seems more than willing to adapt her curriculum to the needs of kids with food allergies and intolerances.
