A Strong
Presence in Brooklyn
NY .

|
We have grown to over 13,000 members across
our 2 email groups and website. We are approaching our
90,000th message on the PSP list since our start 5 years ago and
we're not slowing down. Some of our online highlights include:
---The
creation of the first annual PSP Nanny Survey which collected responses
from over 1100 employers of nannies and babysitters. PSP
joined with online groups in California
and DC for a nationwide survey. The Nanny Survey garnered
much press and even a TV spot on the CBS Morning Show!
---After a local mom posted to PSP about a local library allowing
adults to view pornography in plain sight of children the local press covered the
story.
---After a bit of negative press about their Emergency Room a local
hospital contacted us about doing a forum with our members to work
together to make things better.
---Even Marty Markowitz thought enough of Park Slope Parents to
cover it in his quarterly newsletter (p.7)

We
continue to be a presence in the community to help bring great
events and programming to Park Slope.
--Our Annual Spring Fling
grew with more earth-friendly education and also included a
FreeMeet where the community could come give and get whatever they
want free. Next year's event is scheduled for May 16th.
---The 4th
Annual Harvest Festival was the largest ever and
brought in over 2,000 attendees, a costume-making workshop, and
Halloween Banner Making.
---We continued our quest to highlight great kids music and
sponsored the first ever Park
Slope Parents Kids' Music Series which included 4 shows,
8 acts, and capacity crowds. We also continued are partnership wtih
Celebrate Brooklyn and their 2008
Ezra Keats' Concert.
---We helped JJ Byrne Park (now
Washington Park )
with their Summer Season
by sponsoring their Tuesday Night Kids' series.
---The PSP Puppet Team
(comprised of PSP members and their kids) helped bring the Park
Slope Civic Council Halloween Parade to a new level with 15 foot
puppets.
