Comment:  We used Movers and Shakers on the recommendation of a trusted friend and they were amazing! They even have plastic containers for that they drop off before and pick up once you have unpacked. Harry and his team were perfect. I have never had a good experience with movers before this one.

Comment:  We had a great experience with Movers not Shakers. They packed us, stored our stuff and moved us in when our apartment was finally ready. Very professional and they matched another company's price when we got a slightly lower quote.

Comment:  We've had a few great experiences with Movers Not Shakers. They're local, professionals, and reasonably priced - plus they have "green" moving and packing options if you're interested.

Comment:   We tried Movers Not Shakers once to support a Brooklyn business, we liked the "green" aspect, and they were fine. I found the plastic reusable bins they used great, although they could be hard to pack so often they were half full when getting loaded and toward the end, we ended up just having to buy cardboard boxes from them because we ran out of plastic with no time to get more. And then the truck they sent was not big enough, so they had to send another one and the move took a bit longer than planned.

Comment:  We had an absolutely terrible time with Movers not Shakers. They did considerable damage to walls and floors and they were incredibly rude when we tried to get them pay for the damage.

Comment:  I used "Movers not Shakers" and they were fabulous! We did an inventory first to get a price, then I added a few things the day before the move and the price only rose a little. They got to me early, had more men than I expected, and were done SO fast I couldn't believe it. They were friendly but not schmoozy and didn't break a thing :)

Comment:  I've used Movers Not Shakers for my last 2 moves and have been happy with their service. They are not always the cheapest but the quote you get is the price you pay (unless you have way more boxes than you anticipated). They are very respectful with your property as well. I highly recommend them.

Comment:  I learned of Movers Not Shakers from this list, and they moved us to Park Slope 6 weeks ago. It was fantastic in every way. They packed up our entire UWS apartment in 2-3 hours, met us at our new place and brought everything up to our 3rd floor walk-up with amazing speed and efficiency. They are also "green," with biodiesel trucks and reusable plastic bins that they lend you, and then pick up when you're finished unpacking. So no need to buy (or waste) boxes!I got 5 moving estimates, and Movers Not Shakers was not the cheapest. But the Yelp reviews of the cheapest were awful- broken /stolen objects, careless/rude workers and management, etc. I decided to go with a company that pays its workers well, and therefore has low turnover, and workers who care about good service. I will never move in NYC with anyone else!

Comment:  Movers Not Shakers is AMAZING. We move more often than we'd like and these guys are exceptional in quality and price. We have tried other companies and been sorely disappointed. Movers Not Shakers is thorough, thoughtful, reasonable and they really take care of our stuff. I can't recommend them enough.

Comment:  We also recently used "Movers Not Shakers" in Redhook to do some in-house moving (my husband hurt his back and I'm pregnant). Don't know if they were affected by the storm. they price by the item and weren't as economical for the full apt move for us, but still reasonable and I really liked them too. Both were professional, damaged nothing, and brought more guys than they proposed (so it went quicker). Rainbow Movers was booked on the day I needed them so that's why I couldn't go back to them for this smaller move. I'd recommend either though and its nice to support a local business.

Comment:  With 2 very young children we decided to let the movers do a lot of the packing. I tried to direct somewhat but could not be in every room at once. When we started unpacking we discovered that aside from dishes and glasses that were wrapped, they had haphazardly dumped everything into boxes and just taped them up. On day 17 in the new house we opened a box to find a rotten banana sitting on top. Really?! Who does that? Movers Not Shakers. I regretted having chosen them after reading positive reviews here and I really regretted tipping so well because I felt bad they were working on a hot day.September 2012

Comment:  We just hired Movers Not Shakers to move us within Park Slope last week and had a very good experience. We didn't hire them for packing though, just moving. Mark, the owner came over and gave me a fixed price before the move. 5 guys arrived on moving day and worked quickly, diligently, and professionally. My friend recommended them and told me to ask for the "A" team, which I did. Not sure if it made a difference, but the guys who came were great.September 2012

Comment:  We are moving to Minnesota in August and using Movers Not Shakers. Unlike those large moving companies that combine your move with others in the same vicinity, MNS does individual moves. This works better for kids I think since your belongings get there much sooner. A lot of the national companies gave me 5-10 day windows for delivery whereas MNS starts driving right after they pack the truck.(June 2012)

Comment:  We used Movers Not Shakers for a recent move. We had them do the whole move and they were exceptional (and fast)! They use plastic boxes/storage bins for about 95% of our move. That alone was a life saver! Ended up being TONS less work to do after a move not having to break down boxes...

Comment:  Movers Not Shakers was excellent. They come drop plastic bins off at your place a week before the move and collect them a week later. They're obviously more environmentally friendly than using cardboard boxes, but they have other advantages too: strong (nothing broke at all), easy to stack and get out of the way, and since someone comes for them a week later (unless you ask for more time) you can't procrastinate about getting unpacked. The cost was as quoted; the movers were fast and extremely competent.(January, 2011)
