Comment:  Laura Vladimirova/Abby BlockLaura and Abby were my doulas, and Laura was on call for my birth. I met with both in advance and they were extremely helpful and informative - making me feel very comfortable and prepared. After my two pre-birth sessions with them, I couldn't imagine going into labor without knowing I would also have their support! Since my labor was so unexpectedly quick, however, Laura only actually made it to the hospital about an hour before my baby was born, but she stayed for a while after to help us get settled.Based on a July 2017 birthing experience

Comment:  Best part of my birth was having Abby with me during labor. I knew her from college but obviously had no idea how wonderful it would be to have her by my side. Her voice, her touch, and her guidance were sooooo encouraging and special. I'm at a loss for more words, but she was the best investment!!! Just call her.Based on August 2016 birth experience

Comment:  Abby quickly became our birth assistant when I progressed faster than expected. She was in the trenches and hands on from the moment she walked into my house. Peaceful and knowledgeable, I wish she was my sister and best friend. She had the perfect balance of knowing the urgency and coming up with pain relief mechanisms balanced with a soothing voice when I needed to work through the contraction. Insurance: No. But affordable and oh so worth it!Based on a 2015 birth

Comment:  Member Review: Abby has very calming personalities which helped me a great deal. We interviewed about 4 doulas and 2 were final candidates. In the end we picked Abby based on a coin toss!!! It was a very difficult decision as giving birth for the first time is really nerve wrecking! We were so glad to have her company. She stayed with me in triage talking and joking. Doctors came in to see if anyone was in labor. She knew exactly what to do in the labor room by giving us support and holding down my legs and wiping my forehead to putting my hair up. She stayed till 2 am after my daughter arrived at midnight.
