Comment:  I second THe End Is Near. They are definitely pricey but very professional. My 6 year old daughter has been wanting her ears pierced for years but was very nervous to do it. Our first time in the shop they took their time and explained everything. They weren't in a rush and were willing to calm her and talk her through the process. She didn't go through with it that time but we went back a couple months later and she got it done. We couldn't be happier with our experience there.

Comment:  We took my daughter to The End is Near piercing parlor on 7th Avenue in South Slope based on friends recommendations. They are pricey, but they are professionals. Sterile, very knowledgeable and they take a lot of time to discuss care.

Comment:   My daughter (also 6) had her ears pierced at "The End is Near" piercing parlor on 7th and 15th Street a few weeks ago. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's definitely pricey compared to say, Claire's, BUT it felt like the safest, most sterile, environment. And they absolutely know what they're doing. We actually just went back and had them check her ears and she graduated to new earrings. Yay!Interestingly, they don't use a piercing gun... they use a needle. Which I swear hurt less... my daughter (who got very nervous at the last minute but still wanted it done), actually opened her eyes as he was finishing and asked if he had started yet. Also, despite it being a true piercing place, they were so kid-friendly and accommodating. He explained everything he did and was slow and calm and easy going. Such a great experience...

Comment:  My 8-year-old daughter just had her ears pierced by Adam at The End is Near on 7th Avenue (part of Hand of Glory Tattoo http://handofglorytattoo.com/ein/about), and it was, from start to finish, a really wonderful experience! The End is Near is a piercing studio and Adam is a professional piercer. They take 1 “child” appointment per day, Saturday and Sunday, before they officially open, so it’s private/no other adults. They adhere to strict sanitary standards – Adam even wore a mask when doing the piercings, and the shop is impeccably clean. We made our appointment by phone earlier in the week, which was confirmed with a calendar invite. When we arrived, we first did the paperwork (you have to bring your child’s birth certificate and a parent’s photo ID). Then our daughter chose her jewelry – all of it was medical grade titanium.Adam was kind and reassuring and funny, explained everything, and really put our daughter at ease. He uses a needle rather than a piercing gun (which was one of the main reasons we decided to go to a professional studio) and she truly didn’t even flinch.Afterwards he reviewed all of the aftercare with all of us, and made it clear that he was always available if we had any questions/needed to come back in.There is a 10% PSP member discount – the piercing was $40 and the jewelry is $50+, depending on what you choose. Not inexpensive, but absolutely worth every penny!Really glad we chose them

Comment:  I went there to get an ear piercing that was infected (my fault for using old jewelry that wasn't properly cleaned) fixed up & the guy was a big help. He put in a sterile ring and it healed up. I recommend them. Also if your kid wants to feel hip then that's the place.I'm from Seattle where there were like piercing shops 10 to a block when I was a grunge-era teenager. The ear piercings I got at a jeweler when I was 12 were constantly infected and the ones I got later higher in my ear as an older teen/ in college at piercing shops did much better. My best friend is pierced all over so I spent a lot of time in the shops even though I was minimally skewered....Anyways END IS NEAR felt familiar and welcoming given that background :).

Comment:  I had my ear pierced there this summer in a spot that normally gets infected easily (forward helix) but because of the time they took to guide me thru the aftercare process, it's not given me a single problem. Adam did my piercing, was very skilled and detailed and takes his job seriously so you'd be in good hands there.
