Comment:   Our current favorite is 9th Street Cycles. On 9th Street and 6th Avenue. They have excellent bikes, are all knowledgeable, and give free basic tune-ups for the life of your bike if you buy a bike from them. This has saved me hundreds of dollars given that I bought my bike from them for myself when the store first opened. My son has bought two bikes from them (one of them was stolen) and has been very happy with both. When we first went shopping for our son’s bike, we visited many shops before we took him to 9th Street Cycles, and he had ridden a few at the other shops to try them out. He fell in love with the one at 9th Street Cycles and never looked back. They have bikes at a wide price range.

Comment:  I LOVE the people at 9th Street Cycles on 9th and 6th ave. They sell kids bikes in the store so you can try them out to find the best size, then they will order you a new one. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with. And if you buy your bike there, they will do tune ups and repairs on it for free for the life of the bike.I have no affiliation with them other than being a very happy repeat customer.

Comment:  9th street cycles! They are AWESOME: have a great selection of helmets and all bike stuff, plus so sweet to my kid (when I took her a year ago to buy her bike helmet, the guy working there brought up at least 5 different purple helmets for her to try). I highly recommend them for all your cycling etc needs. They're on 9th street and 6th ave. I have no affiliation other than being a super happy repeat customer.

Comment:  I had a great experience last Thursday at Brooklyn Bikes (9th st and 6th). I stopped by in the morning to get my tires filled before the shop even opened. There was a staff member there who was eating his breakfast on the step and helped me fill my tires. I went back when the shop opened and bought my son a helmet. The same guy who helped me fill my tires helped me with the toddler helmets. He did more than expected to try to get my son to try on the helmet willingly - putting helmets on himself so that we were all wearing them, showing my son the mirror so he could see the helmet etc. and eventually he put up with the screaming & crying when I made my son put the helmet on.The only other time I've been in Brooklyn Bikes was with a friend who had just had her jogging stroller tire burst and we were in and out of the shop in 5 mins with a new inner tube installed for free - she bought the inner tube, but they didn't charge to put it on and fill it up. I don't have a lot of biking needs but expect to make Brooklyn Bike my first stop in the future.

Comment:  I have had good experiences with the bike shop on 6th Ave & 9th St (Brookyln Bicycles). We've bought 2 bikes there and have had another repaired by them.
