Comment:  REVIEW: I had to go to them since I was a high risk birth due to clotting issues. The good thing is that you never have any expectations that you will be able to choose your doctor at birth. So make sure to meet everyone. The annoying thing is that they are very conservative in their practice-- since everyone they deal with is high risk. Aside from my clotting issue, I actually had a very low risk pregnancy. But I had to fight with them every step and turn down extra testing in order to avoid medical intervention I wasn't interested in. Also, they don't always talk to each other-- different doctors will tell you different things. In the end, I had a very low intervention birth (which is what I wanted) and the doctor I ended up with (Gupta) was great and helped me accomplish that. Part of it was the luck of having her be on call. INSURANCE Because they are high risk they are used to insurance issues. They actually helped me fight my insurance company over an issue I had that was ridiculous. Based on a July 2015 birth

Comment:  REVIEW: I can't say enough good things about the team at Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates. I started my pregnancy at Downtown Women in Soho, but found out at 30 weeks that my son had intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) so Downtown Women recommended we transfer to a high-risk pregnancy practice. We met with Dr. Saltzman twice a week as we monitored our son's well-being. He was both reassuring and informative; concerned but calming. In general, all of the doctors we saw at MFMA gave us the full attention we needed--we never felt rushed in our appointments but felt free to ask as many questions as we had. I was induced at 38 weeks at Mount Sinai and had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Silverstein and Dr. Fox. They listened to our preferences for the birth, even though it was a volatile situation that could at any moment have moved to a C-section. With their patience and close monitoring of the situation, I was able to deliver vaginally. For my next pregnancy, I plan to go back to this team. INSURANCE I have BCBS and had no issues with MFMA. Comment:  Dr. Rebarber at Maternal Fetal Medicine in Manhattan is very very experienced. They are a practice for high risk pregnancies, and I went to them with my first pregnancy which wound up in a miscarriage due to a trisomy issue early on. I loved Dr. Rebarber and trust him completely. For other reasons, I left the practice with my next pregnancy, but was thrilled to find that at the practice I went to, since the three women doctors don't do those procedures themselves, they use Maternal Fetal Medicine Doctors, and I was able to have Dr. Rebarber do my amnio with my last pregnancy in 2011 and a CVS this time, in March. He is really wonderful. The procedures are done at Carnegie Hill Imaging. They have offices on the Upper East Side and on Madison at 32nd street. I came to him from the recommendation of a friend who had three children with him as her doctor and he did all 3 of her amnios.

Comment:  Dr Russell Miller and the genetic counselors (Ashley Wilson and Julia Wynn among others) in the Maternal Fetal medicine department of Columbia Presbyterian are wonderful. They helped us through a very difficult situation as well as a healthy pregnancy. If you call the general number they will match you with the right doctor and counselor based on your needs

Comment:  I second the recommendation of Maternal Fetal Medicine. I think they are amazing and are very skilled at high risk pregnancies. All of the doctors are amazing, but I am especially fond of Drs. Bender, Rebarber and Silverstein. They delivered both of my children at Mt. Sinai, and the care was fantastic. They will see you as often as you need, even if it is just to calm your fears.

Comment:  I cannot recommend Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates at Mt. Sinai enough. They are an incredible group of kind, expert, relaxed OBs. I was not able to find your original post, but I saw someone mention something about late term loss, and I wanted to share a story about how one visit when I went to see them, I wanted to talk to one of the docs (I was seeing one of the midwives), and none were available, because they were all in an office with a patient who had just experienced a loss. They are incredibly emotionally attentive and yet still super professionally competent. My OB there (who delivered my first child when he was at NYU), answers my personal emails all the time about anxiety and other medical stuff. They also have midwives who do not deliver, but whom you can see for your routine visits if you like. They are all extremely kind and competent and my birthing experience at Mt. Sinai was terrific. I am happy to talk more about this.

Comment:  I highly, highly recommend all the doctors at Maternal Fetal Medicine at Mount Sinai, especially Drs. Bender and Rebarber. They take most insurance and are very highly regarded as some of the best high risk OBs in NYC and also extremely warm and sympathetic towards their patients and all of the issues that they are dealing with. Comment:  When I was pregnant, we went to Maternal Fetal Medicine in Manhattan to meet with a genetics counselor there. They are a great practice and both genetics counselors we met with were great with follow up, patient, etc. It's a bit of hike from PS though.

Comment:  I can highly recommend the practice: Maternal Fetal Medicine. It is a large practice and we did not meet any doctor that we would not have been happy to have deliver our son. We had a great pre-natal experience as well as birth and post-natal experience.

Comment:  Maternal Fetal Medicine (Drs. Rebarber, Silverstein and Bender) do accept insurance. I have Oxford, and at 7 months in to my pregnancy I have had one $25.00 co-pay. Call them to make sure what carriers they accept.

Comment:  I highly recommend Maternal Fetal Medicine, which is a group practice at Mt. Sinai for high risk pregnancies. All of the doctors are excellent, and you get an ultrasound at every visit, they let you come as often as you need to for both medical reasons and for mental sanity after having trouble getting pregnant, staying pregnant or suffering a late term loss. Their number is (212) 722-7409, and I strongly recommend both Dr. Rebarber and Dr. Bender.

Comment:  I subscribe the recommendation for Maternal Fetal Health Associates, my regular og/gyn is Spring Street but they have sent me there and to Mount Sinai for screenings, and various consultations about high risk issues. The doc I have been seeing is Chad Klauser, and I think he is great. I have been taken care with extreme care and thoroughly, and I feel I am in really good hands.
